Fs 45 stihl

The head will not trun. i was useing it and the head stop truning but you can take the head off and it will trun or you can put the head back on and it will trun but whin you put the nut on it acts like the nut is getting to tight and puching the head up to tight whin i took the head off did i lose something that stops the not from pushing the head up to tight

You could try cleaning the back of the head out as it may be jamming onto the shaft.

How to get the head off of a Stihl weedeater. Model FS 45

There is a hole beside the angle gearbox, stick an awl or small screwdriver into it & turn the head until it 'locks'. Then rotate the head clockwise until it comes off.

check the exhaust port. stihl put a down sizing plug on it and it can clog up. it is easily removed with a socket and cleaned out
