Sony CDP-CE375 5-Disc CD Changer Logo

Is there an easy fix to the problem given in the details section below?

Using the eject and skip disc buttons, I can load the tray normally. When I press the play button, tray retracts but moves only slightly counterclockwise. If I manually keep the tray from retracting, the disc moves into the proper position for playing. Then, when I allow the tray to retract, the disc is lifted and starts playing. When finished, nothing happens until I press another disc button or the skip disc button and the disc is released and falls back into the tray. However the tray does not move until the eject button is pressed and the tray rotates as it exits the player.

No there will not be a easy fix for this. You can keep putting up with this the way you have been or buy a new receiver and try to sell this one on craigslist, eBay, etc.

Polaroid 2001G DVD player and recorder won't eject or go past the HELLO. POWER ON

If the set switches ON, and the display says 'eject' when you press the eject button, and the disc tray do not eject, the fault should be with its mechanical side. Check and replace the disc loading mechanism. Prior to that, check whether the loading belt is broken or not. If broken, replace it. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. 321 stuck disc

Take cover off. Locate tray which houses the DVD. You must locate the planet gear (teeth 360 degrees) and turn that manually. It may resist if something is stuck (kid object). Find the UFO first and get it out of there. Then try to plug unit in and eject before prying or applying pressure to the gearing to drive the tray out. You may skip some teeth on the gear and the from that point on the DVD won't load or eject correctly anymore. There is a sensitive timing sequence there so if you skip a tooth, it will need to go the repair center. Take your time and examine everything and try to remove the UFO. Turn it upside down and shake, etc. Then continue to use the eject button. This is all you can do at home. If that fails find a repair center.

Manually eject the disc tray
  1. Disconnect the power cord and any other cables connected to the console.

  2. Uncoil a paper clip.

  3. Position the console horizontally, as you would position a DVD player.
  4. Find the yellow sticker behind the vents on the left side of the console.
  5. Insert the straight end of the paper clip into the eject hole which is located just above the yellow sticker (as shown in the picture below).

    odd-paperclip.jpg

  6. The disc tray should pop out slightly. Pull the tray out the rest of the way with your fingers.

Note If a disc is in the tray, make sure that it is not sticky and does not have a label that might prevent the tray from opening again in the future.

We have the RCA RS2767i Home Stereo with 5-disc changer and ipod dock. The CD Tray won't eject or shuffle...everything else works fine. It seems the disc tray isn't responding to anything. We read in the...

Let me respond with a possible solution although I'd bet that both of you already tried these.

The reason I checked into this is because I'm looking for a new mini system. I happen to be at Target and they only had 2 models - this one and a SONY. I certainly didn't want to buy the RCA given these problems, so I asked the salesperson, who seemed to have some knowlege.

As far as opening the tray on top, there is a button to push right under the tray. The button has an icon of a triangle on it. This seems to be somewhat of a standard icon for opening the tray or ejecting a CD (my car's CD has the same icon for ejecting a CD).

As far as only being able to get 3 CD's out, there is another button under the tray marked "disc skip". This rotates the tray. When you open the tray, you can only get to 3 of the CD's. When you push disk skip, it rotates the tray one position, so you can get the 4th one out. Another push and now you can get the 5th one.

Sometimes my CD changer doesn't shuffle the disks. If I only have 1 CD or DVD in it and push the tray open button, the disk stays in the unit and the tray revolves to an intermediate position. I push the button to put the tray back and try disc skip; that usually works.

If your problems are not solved per above, then I definitely do NOT want to get this.

Onkyo c707chx...

This is an easy fix if you are somewhat handy.... The belt for the door/tray is slipping. If you remove the enclosure and face plate, you will see two motors below the disc drive. Press eject while observing the pulley to the left. You should see the problem with the motor shaft spinning and the belt slipping. Replacing the belt is possible without any further dissassembly. Simply bend some light wire into an L shape and you should be able to hook both pulleys and lace the new belt on. As far as obtaining a new belt I decided to do the simple thing and use a slightly smaller rubber band. The repair has held now for almost three months and the player is used everyday. Good luck.
