How do I get into the keys of my Clavinova 409 - they're sticking

Firstly take a look at the keys that are sticking. Are they leaning slightly to the left? The gap on either side should be equal, you should be able to slide a business card freely into the gap.

If they are leaning to one side it is a sure bet that the key has broken on the fixing under the bank of switches.

You will need to dismantle the keyboard and remove the broken key ( and the bit that has probably broken off ) and replace it.

Replacement keys can be found at www.beckettsmusic.co.uk if required. If you need further assistance contact via the links on the site.

How to repair broken keys on roland rd 300s digital keyboard

This depends on "how" they are "broken".

Many of the keyboards with semi-weighted keys get the keys knocked out of the pivot points and one has to open the unit and reseat the key and/or the key spring retainer.

If the keys have broken parts, replacement is the only option.

Broken white E and F keys on my TECHNICS SX P50

SOMETIMES the keys are not really broken, but instead knocked out of their pivot arrangements. Technics is out of business and you MAY have a hard time finding replacements. I believe they were bought out by Panasonic. You will LIKELY have to get parts for this, if available, through an instrument repair shop.

I might suggest taaking it to a shop and see if they MIGHT be able to swap the keys with ones you don't use.

They SHOULD be able to disarm them so it is at least playable.

Be forewarned that SOMETIMES excess forces on the keys from dropping CAN crack the circuit board onder the keys and that can be fatal and require board replacement, if available.

Sprung bass key. Key sticks upwards from the keyboard. How do I fix this? This is on a Casio PX500L player piano.

Not sure of the keys in your synth, but MANY of them have a couple of tangs that come forward from the key and catch on a rail at the front to hold the key from coming up too far. THESE CAN GET BROKEN or slip past the rail if abused.

So check the front of the keys for any signs of something breaking off.

If it has, POSSIBLY you can attach something to replace the broken tangs. Gkluing on the old broken ones will not work. They will soon break off.
