Your soap tray and/or inlet is probably blocked with undissolved powder. Remove the tray and clean it. Also clean the inlet tube from the tray into the washing machine with hot water.
I, personally don't like soap powder and use a liquid or tablets because washers nowadays tend to use cold water only so doesn't fully dissolve the powder. Also the outlet to drain gets blocked along with the underground pipe to the mains sewage.

How to fix leak from soap dispensor

I assume you have water coming out of the dispenser and running down the front of the machine. You probably have a build up of soap powder in the water inlet and it is restricting the flow and backing up.
Soap powder is only partially soluble in cold water and a residue of undissolved powder builds up over time, one of the reasons I use a liquid detergent. Remove the dispenser tray, it should pull out fairly easily with just a little resistance. Try and clear any blockages, hot water is best as it dissolves better. Clean the tray you have removed and re-assemble.

Water leaks from my detergent dispenser from my front loader washing machine?

This is usually indicative of soemthing blocking the flow of water out of the soap tray, down the connecting pipe and in to the drum chamber.
The soap tray doesnt have any seals as water should just flow into the tray, wash out the soap / fabric softner, and then flow out the back of the tray and down the connecting pipe. When working correctly, there is no pressure or water back-up to cause the water to reach the front of the soap tray.

Take out the tray - your machine user manual will show you how, and check both the tray itself and the "hole" it slots in to for either a build up of solidified soap powder, or some other foreign object. If still leaking, remove the tray again and try to get your hand (a woman's or teenager's hand being smaller is best) down the large oulet at the back of the "hole" the tray slots in to to feel for a blockage.
Do you have young children ? A washing machine soap tray is a great place to hide things !

Occasionally, if the smaller pipes that deliver hot and cold water to the tray come adrift, this can spray water at the front of the machine. This water then has only one real way out - via the soap tray "hole". Most often this will be the cold water pipe as this has higher water pressure to cope with. The only way to check this is to take the top of the machine off.

If after all of the above it still leaks, you'll either need to dismantle the machine enough to see the back of the soap tray "hole", connecting pipe and drum chamber for a better look for problems, or call an engineer.

Water is coming out of the soap dispenser, what do

We had water pour out of the dispenser of our Kenmore HE2 washer. hot water helped us for one load then i realize that a trapped rag was the problem We were actually able to pull the face cloth out of the intake tube without taking everything apart!
opened the washer door and feel around inside the rubber seals to find where the intake tube connects to the drum (upper-left side). felt a small bit of cloth sticking out of the tube and were able to slowly work it out by pulling back and forth. and pulled it completely out thats all it was try this

Water leaks from softner dispenser

I had same thing with MtgNeptune frnt loader. Manual sed may be a kink in the front drain hose, caused by sudden burst in water pressure. Not in my case. A service call and $90 laterwasn't fixed. I pulled the soap tray and found rinse water wasn't going down the well as fast as it was filling, causing water to spill down front, and around the door. I turned down the water pressure 2 days ago and 9 loads later- no problem! It may take a few minutes longer to fill, but far less work than mopping after each load or hitting 'pause' and 'start' while waiting for the the water level to go down. We're on a well and ocassionally have change in water pressure. I don't know if this was the problem, but it was definately my solution! I turned the intake vavles at the wall to 1/2 pressure. Floor is staying dry and the drain tray beneath is also dry ($12.00 Menards). I hope this helps.

Epic Z - Water coming out the front soap tray

you can try pulling the soap tray out and clean all the old detergent and softener in there. they do clogged the outlet of water for the water to overflow.

check also where the soap box is inserted. it would also have lots of dirt.

Water Leaking really bad from the Dispenser area

Disconnect the plug from the outlet. Remove the top of the washer panel by removing the 2 back hex screws then sliding it back to lift it off of the washer. Take off the front control panel by removing the phillips screws holding it in place. Remove the dispenser drawer. Check the dispenser housing for clogs or lime build up at the bottom of the dispenser housing. Or the drain hose (large black hose attached to the front of the drawer housing) to the washer may be crimped or clogged.

LG WM2277HS - water backing up into soap dispenser

The pipe from the soap dispenser to the tub is quite large, it seems as if the water isn't getting out of the dispenser quick enough. Pull the whole dispenser out of the machine. There is a release clip at the back of the cup with the tray fully open. Clean out all soap residue and scum. Sometimes there is also a spot or setting for liquid or powder detergent. Adjust accordingly. Reassemble and try it again.

Lg wm1812cw front load washer

We had the same problem- for us it was because we were mixing laundry booster (Oxyclean) with liquid soap in the dispenser. It seems the water running through the tray had insufficient pressure to properly flush the tray out, so residue accumulated on the back & underside of the tray. Our water pressure is good here, and we don't use a water softener or filters that can reduce the pressure. Unfortunately it seems to just be a bad design of the soap dispenser tray.

We also had a problem with water/bleach leaking from our soap dispenser- when we used the bleach compartment in the dispenser we got leaks dripping onto the floor from behind the front cover of the washing machine. It was running down the front of the washer behind the front cover & coming out onto the floor. The repair guy said this was because the dispenser tray was pulled out too far, but the reason we were pulling the soap tray out so far was because the bleach compartment was too far back in the tray to use if we didn't. Now we just leave the drawer partially closed & pour the bleach directly into the soap compartment along with the soap.
