LaserJet P3015. Why is it printing dark background?

The most common problem that produces a black background is a defective toner cartridge. Trying a different toner cartridge is the first step my company follows, and usually saves the customer the cost of having a tech come out to tell them that the problem was toner cartridge in the first place.
