Could I have a clog in the line? and where would I look?

When I turn it on for the first time, it sounds like it is only filling with a trickle. Hobart tech says it could be a clog. The psi only reaches about 14 during rinse and fill, but during initial fill, it sits on zero as the water trickles in. Where would the clog be. The dishes seem to come out very clean however

SOURCE: Hobart LX 18 problem

You are having a problem with the fill valve. If the unit fills AT ALL, with the power off, the fill valve is the issue.

It is a gold color valve behind the front kick panel. It has a large castle-like cap. Sometimes debris is the cause of your failure. (50/50). Turn off the water, and just take it apart slowly and pay attention to the plunger and spring. Take out the diaphram and screen, and clean it. There should be just one small hole in the diaphram. If cleaning doesn't help, you need to buy a rebuild kit. If you get the "ML" off the data plate, I can get you the kit P/N.

good luck

Water flow tube on ice maker leaking by causing ice blockage

When the ice maker calls for water, the valve sends water to the ice maker in the appropriate amount and then shuts off, sending no more water until the ice maker calls for it again. If the water fill line is freezing up, this will cause a leak the next time the ice maker calls for water. The water has to go somewhere. The problem is more than likely the the water valve. It is not shutting off completely and it is allowing a small trickle of water to be constantly sent to the ice maker. This causes the fill line to freeze up and clog. Replace the water valve and defrost the water fill line and solve the problem.

The model I have is actually a 21VP4C-1. The water will not flow into the tank. It trickles in very slowly and then stops after about 1/2 gallon. Is there a float of some kind that may be stuck? The valve...

Turn water off and remove pipes between shut-off valve and water heater.
Water heater inlet may be clogged.
Pipes might be filled with sediment.

If clog is not there, then shut off water to house and remove shut-off valve located above tank.

Rinse water barely trickles out of my washer

Do you fill the machine with hot water only?

If so, this is what I suspect. The filters in the inlet hoses on the back of the washer need cleaning. Remove the garden hose connectors, remove filter, clean, replace.

When filling with hot only you get a lot of pressure thru one hose. When you rinse, the best you can do pressure-wise is cold rinse -- but the cold water filter is going to be more clogged than the hot so it delivers less water.

When you use warm rinse, you get mediium pressure thru both lines, again less water than al hot on filling the machine.

Cold water trickles, hot water fills fast as normal

where your water lines connect there is a sc reen inside and if it is clogged with rust lime and or mineral deposit. it needs cleaned out. you can pull it out with a ice pick or something pointy. Check your screen first and if that doesn't fix ya then yes replace the unit.

Hot and cold water trickles from faucet--seems nearly clogged.

The debre from turning off the valves comes through the lines and clogs up,usually the aireator, the screen at the end of the faucet. Take aireator off ,,colena and reassemble. If that does not work, disconnect the  lines at the shurtoff agaoun and look for hte obstructions for the aireator back to the shurtoffs.

The cold water does not run it trickles, hot water runs very fast

If both solenoid coils check the same, you probably have a clogged supply hose. Check that the filter screens inside the hose (if present) and the fill valve inlet are clear of mineral buildup. Try switching the hot and cold supply lines to see if the trouble moves from cold to hot. If the cold still only trickles in, replace the fill valve.

The cold water on my Kenmore #110.82673110 washing machine does not work....barely trickles out....the line is not clogged.

The fill valve, where the hose hook to the back, has gotten plugged with sediment. You will need to replace the valve.
