Usb pen drive not detected

I am sorry to hear that your USB pen drive got a virus. If the message you get when you are cleaning or reformatting the drive is password protected, the drive is very much finish. I would suggest you to buy a new one.

click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question mark?

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports(com&lpt)right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts hope this helps

Try the usb drive on another pc to see if it is dead. If the usb drive works on another pc, reply to me and I can help more. If the usb drive does not respond on another pc, it may be dead.

The thumb drive might have some fault.
Plug it in other OS mainly windows XP and Linux.
If still same problem persists after tried in Linux, problem is with pen drive.
You can ask for a replacement from the dealer as it has guarantee for 5years.

CIRCUIT MAY BE DAMAGED DUE TO IMPROPER HANDLING

You can try using another usb port, or it might be that other things conncected to the usb are interfering with it. Try disconnecting things attatched to other usb ports (check in the back of the computer) but be sure that they're not important before you go ripping out cords.

first go to my computer propery then hardware then device manager then go t ousb controller uninstall all usb drivers from there then just right click on any driver then click on scan for hardware changes then it automatic install usb drivers .
Connectyour pen drive to usb port check all port.
then if its not working check with other usb device is working with usb port?

What Operating SYstem are you using? XP or Vista? An what service pack? (Check this by pressing the Windows key + the Paue/Break key together)

Firstly, if you are plugging the pen drive in to the front USB, try the USB ports at the back. Many times this works.

Secondly, It's a known problem that XP with SP1 doesn't detect many pen drives correctly.

If that's the case, download service Pack 3 from microsoft's site:

when i fix the pen drive to the PC it throughs a massage "USB devive not recognized"

You must install a "Driver" for it to work under Win98, go to the manufacturers web site and download the driver and install.
