Insert your ( memory card , flash disk , cellphone , .... ) into your computer.
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.

#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.

Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.

Once highlighted press control+Delete on your keyboad and that should remove the files and wipe the drive..
I am not able to format my pen drive
Easiest way to format it is by connecting to the USB port of a PC . Click my computer / identify your Pen drive / right click on the drive - in the drop down Menu one of the options will be format. Click on format and it will warn you that you will loose all data / click yes and it will take about half a minute.

My pen drive is detecting
Hey Anui kr59,
There is a chance it is trying to use a drive letter that is already in use. For example, if you plug it in the first time and it displays as your "k drive" and then you unplug it. Then you plug in a friend's thumb drive, it takes the "K Drive" title, and then you plug in yours again it will not be able to use the K drive.
In order to check/fix right click on my computer on the desktop. Go to "Manage". On the left side of the Computer Management window click on Disk Management (under Storage). Then right click on the name of your pen drive (typically called the manufacturer's name, default, or removable media). Click on change drive letter and paths. Then click Change, and choose a drive letter that is not currently in use, maybe the R drive. Press OK twice to return to the computer management window, press the X, and you should be back at the desk top and able to access your pen drive.
My 8gb hp pen drive
First of all and if you haven't done so already, restart your computer. If this does not resolve the issue, try right-clicking on the flash drive in the "My Computer" menu. If "Format..." is available as an option, select this and go through the process of formatting the device. Be aware that this will erase all data that you have saved on the drive.
Hp 4 gb pendrive not detected in mysystem
Try using it in other systems. You can try to reformat it per your user guide, but if it's not detected at all you probably won't be able to. If you can't format it, see it, or access it, then it's toast.
