SOURCE: Center and Surround Channels Inop

Even if it were a fuse, a blown fuse is merely a symptom not the solution. From the symptoms you've described the AMPs are the most likely problem. They are mounted to a large aluminum heat sink usually about center of the main board. There are several and they are a task to remove and replace because the entire board has to be removed... However, it's not too costly a repair and for a qualified shop something that can be done in a couple of hours - including testing. If you like the receiver get it fixed. Compared to most digital receivers today it's probably cheaper to fix this one than buy another. And a good repair shop will add years more life to that unit... Hope this helps. Bill

SOURCE: Center Channel not Working

Check that it's center speaker in the set-up menu is on and that the sound field that it's in uses the center speaker. try it in pro logic. It could be a bad solder connection on the speaker terminal or on the relay in the receiver.

Turn up the volume on the left or right speakers or turn down the center channel volume to meet your preferences. There should be a setting for that in most receivers.

Yamaha rx-v2500 receiver how to hook up speakers

HI,

Follow these steps to connect a powered sub woofer to your receiver: You typically have two options when connecting a powered sub woofer. Input (1) on the rear of the sub woofer would be used when connecting the sub woofer to the receiver using speaker wires. You would then connect the main speakers to the opposite end, or output or the sub woofer to the main speakers. Option (2) would be using RCA line level output jacks, input (2) on the rear panel of the sub woofer directly to the single sub woofer output on the back of an AV receiver. blank.gif

5channel amp 6 speakers how do i wire amp to speakers. channel 5 is a sub channel which i do not have my amp is a polk audio pa1100.5

if it is a 5.1 channel amp wire the center speakers together into the same port. wire the two front speakers in the or der that they would appear on the amp (such as left front speaker to the left front speaker terminal on the amp etc.) and do the same for the rear speakers. and all you should have left is the sub-woofer channel in which you do not have to worry about.

Hi, my problem is only the front 2 speakers work i have tried all the speakers in the front 2 connections of the unit & all speakers are working but none when in the rear, center, & sub woofer unit...

Without knowing which receiver etc you have... make sure your "mode" is set to 5 channel, Dolby Pro or similar. And even then, make sure your source is 5 channel. What are you using for an input cable? It needs to be able to provide 5 channel. Standard RCA stereo type cords do not. You need either optical, "coax" or hdmi. Lastly do you actually have a 5 channel program? Many older movies, and standard cable boxes only output stereo, not 5 channel.

Lux Audio 5.1 home theater speaker & Yamaha HTR 5540 AMP

configure ur PC (both OS audio and third party sound driver) for surround sounds. control panel- sounds and audio devices - speaker settings - advanced - speker settings. so this done. make sure u select the 6 input channel - the button is on the right edge near the volume knob. near the vol button there are two buttons for selecting input type with up down arrow. from that u can select the input type this will be indicated on the top front indicator. but with the 6 input channel selected all selections are preceeded. if u select stereo mode u will have left/ right audio only.
make sure u connect the input right. connect from computer to 6 channel input. main, surround, center and sub-woofer.  connect the spekers to main (L/R), rear(surround) (L/R), center and sub woofer to terminal marked sub woofer ouput. this done select like i said before the 6 channel button. that should do it.

We have a very small living room now. I would like to set up just the center speaker and the two rear speakers and disconnect the two front speakers and the subwoofer. Is that possible?

well it depends on what audio device installed on your computer coz other you can make an adjustment for 4 channel, 5 channel & 7 channel speakers including sub woofer and surrounds. try to check your setting or the best way is to unplug your front speaker and sub woofer. good luck!!!
