Hi

The MS BSOD (blue screen of death), if this is what you have, is never a nice thing to get and usually means a hardware or driver failure.

The web site here allows you to select your computer from the options and you can then select drivers, manuals etc to download so that you can attempt to repair your computer. In the three columns select "Notebook" > "Aspire" > "Aspire E71-571" and tabs will appear further down the page.

Drivers and Manuals

You can then select any drivers you may require for your hardware, or the manual etc.etc.

Alternatively if you have somebody you know who can remove your hard drive and connect it to another computer to extract your data files from the drive, or you have an up-to-date back up of your data files, then you can use the return to factory settings from the hard drive. The method to do this will be in the User Guide on the page above.

Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

Cheers

First calm down.even if your laptop has serious problem your files are unswayed in this case.
1. Turn on or restart your computer.
2. Hold down the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. If the computer makes a complaining noise, tap the F8 key repeatedly instead of holding it down.
3. If a Windows logo or "Windows starting" appears, wait until Windows loads.... then restart the computer and try pressing F8 again.
4. Once you are successful, a menu will appear with a number of boot options. Use an arrow key to navigate to "Safe Mode" and press the Enter key.
5.if windows start without flasing blue let me know to give further instructions...

Blue screen errors are a bad sign. You probably have a virus or a corrupted hard drive. Depending on your computer expertise, I recommend either re-formatting your hard drive (you will lose everything), or purchasing a new computer.

My acer aspire 4315 laptop screen goes dark

ASPIRE ONE BIOS FLASH RECOVERY

First format an USB stick with FAT.

Download the latest BIOS, and put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file in the root directory of the stick. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD, that's important. Do not remove the USB stick.

Turn the AA1 off, make sure both battery and AC adapter are connected. Press Fn+Esc, keep it pressed and press the power button to turn the AA1 on. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds, the power button will be blinking. Press the power button once. The AA1 will now initiate the BIOS flash, do not interrupt it under any circumstances. After a while the power button will stop blinking, and the AA1 will reboot shortly after. Wait patiently.

The BIOS has been flashed and all settings reset to default.

If for some reason you made a mistake during the procedure and it doesn't reboot by itself wait 5 minutes before turning it off, just to be safe that it isn't still flashing the BIOS.
