Why would cold water slow to a trickle but hot water still fill normally in a washing machine? There are no water line problems to the machine and there are no mineral deposits in the screen at the washing machine.

Did you disassembe the cold water valve in the machine? Others may refer to this as a "solenoid", but I think of it as a valve. If it's blocked internally or simply not opening correctly, you'll want to replace it.

As previously stated by a few techs. the water control valve is controlled by a solenoid which is working if your getting cold water even if slow. This solenoid pulls open the cold water valve it is attached to. This valve has built up calcium and lime scale that is not allowing it to open fully. So you either have to take it apart and clean it or replace it. I would replace as the scale can ruin the O-rings in the valve. A local dealer should have this part for about 20 bucks or so. The solenoid is functioning as it pulls the valve open part way. Hope this help you understand what is going on. To thoroughly check and clean the valve it would have to be disassembled cleaned then put back together. A visual inspection through the valve ports is not going to reveal the problem.

Sounds like the valve in the machine is either blocked internally, or simply not opening fully. Possible blockage is further down the line, too.

Testimonial: "We just got done removing and cleaning everything from the inlit screen to the tub annd reinstalled with no improvement. No sign of damage to the electrical parts we can see so im guessing something internal gave up."

Check filter screens at solenoid, back of machine,,check solenoid itself.

Testimonial: "The screens are clean and there is no debris in the waterline or the valve in the machine. Water flow is normal for both hot and cold water till it goes in the machine"
