Upon accessing my fb page one day a prompt directed me to login and enter my password. I had always logged in through a text my sister sent me. After 3 rejected passwords I was finally able to log on. The problem is I am told to create my profile all over again! Where did my friends go? How do I get back to my notifications page? This is the only problem in a year I've had with fb.

You could figure out your email password first by going to the site you made your email. For example if you had gmail account, go to google and press "Forgot Password".
Then you might be able to trigger a memory.. If not then try to work backward and try to log into Facebook using that email password because most people keep their passwords constant for easy memorization..

It's possible you've been hacked and someone has gotten on and changed your password. Or that FB is just having a bad server day where things that have worked for ages get zapped.

What I'd recommend to be on the safe side: Go to the FB login page and then use the 'I forgot my password' link. This should prompt you, possibly for some secret-question answers, and then send a password-reset link to the e-mail account that you have linked to the FB account. Use the link and go reset your password. Of particular importance in the event that someone did hack you:

1. Make the new password distinctly different from the old one. If the old one was 'Evelyn555', don't make the next one 'Evelyn556' or 'Evelyn666'. You want a hacker to have no easy clue to the new password.
2. Change the password on the e-mail account you affiliate with your FB account. Same advice on a distinctly different PW. If someone hacked your e-mail, then they also could have sent FB a password-reset request from there. (You may even want to check the trash to see if the link was sent, used, trashed, but not deleted). In any case, make sure that the spot that's the 'forgotten password' back-up spot isn't compromised, or it'll happen again.
3. Make sure you memorize or save the new passwords in some appropriate way so that you can remember them, but no-one else can find them.
4. If you have laptops or mobile devices that 'Stay Logged In' to FB, be careful about lending them to others without explicitly opening a tab to FB first and logging out.

If you are being blocked then it is likely that you are not entering the login details that Facebook is expecting, whether they have been satisfactory in the past or not. You could try this, go to the login page here:,

just under where you input your password you can click on "forgotten password". This takes you to a page where it says "find my account" where you can enter "Email, Phone, Username or Full Name". Try entering one of these (My email gave the best result for me) and follow through the instructions to reset your password so that you can access your account.
If this does not work there are a number of options here depending upon what you have lost, ie you can't log in, your facebook page has been locked and you can't change it, or it no longer appears to exist. I could go through them all but it has already been done here:

It is not necessary to go through the lost password stuff if, as I think you are saying, you know your password but want to change password or phone number.

Just log in, and when you are logged in there is something looking like a gear in the upper right of the gmail web page.

Click this and you see a drop down menu including SETTINGS

Choose SETTINGS and it will let you change your password, your backup phone number and anything else that you want to change.

Point your web browser at http://www.facebook.com

If your sister's account comes up, log out of it by clicking the down-pointing triangle in the upper-right then clicking "Log Out."

the way you describe it, it's more of a browser issue than of facebook concern... try deleting cached and cookies in internet options
start>control panel>internet option>under general tab click on delete cookies or delete browsing history...

hmmmm i think ur accnt has been hacked n the only way that can serve the purpose is that rehack it or reset your fb password. . bext ov luck
