This could be something to do with the size and class of your memory card. You usually need a class 10 card for the higher read and write speeds.

In movie mode, why does the recording stop automatically after just a few seconds?

It may well be that you have a low level SD card You should try to use a '10' card this is shown on the card by the number 10 in a large C. It's to do with the cards write & read speed. A class 10 card will cure your problem

I think your card is damaged. Try connecting to your computer and check available space. Take a backup and format it from your PC, check if it is formatting completely.

If the card is not Class 10 you will also have problem recording movie from a camera. You need a high speed card to record video.

Movie shooting auto stops

Make sure your SD card is Class 10. If not slower card will cause camera to go in busy mode while recording videos.

When shooting a movie, the camera automatically stops recording after 5 seconds. about 2 seconds before it stops recording, something like a meter bar appears on the right of screen, and it jumps up from 1...

Most cameras require a card that writes data fast in order to keep up with shooting movies. If your card is slow, you might consider buying a faster (albeit more expensive) one.
