I am assuming you are talking about the BIOS password which you must enter before the laptop even boots. One way to get past the password is to reset your CMOS battery by taking it out and then wait 10-25 seconds before putting it back in. After it is back in, plug the laptop back in and power up the computer. This should bypass the password. If this fails you can try removing the password using software which you can find here:

Open your Web browser and type "192.168.0.1" (without quotes) into the address bar.

Press "Enter" on your keyboard to access the router.

A login prompt appears.

Enter your username and password to log into the router.

The router's main menu loads.

Navigate to the Maintenance heading of the Main Menu page.

Select "Set Password."

The "Set Password" menu appears.

Enter the router's old password into the Old Password field.

Type the new password into the New Password field. Verify the new password in the Repeat New Password field.

Click the "Apply" button to apply the change.
or if its the WGR614-V6 model

Push the "Default Reset" button on the back of the Netgear WGR614-V6.

The button is located on the back of the unit, to the left of the external antenna.

You may need to use a pin or the tip of a pencil to access the button.

Continue holding the button in until you see the "Power" indicator on the front of the unit turn off and back on.

This takes approximately ten seconds.

Let go of the button.

The Netgear WGR614-V6 shuts off and turns back on.

Allow several seconds for this process to complete.

Log into the router using the default password by opening a Web browser and navigating to the address "192.168.1.1." Enter the password "password" to log in.

Well, there are two possibilities: 1) You don't remember your password correctly 2) Some electronic failure messed up your password settings I recommend you to reset your router and reconfigure it, first turn off your router then reset your router by using a small pin or tooth pick and putting it in a small hole in the back of the router push just a little the reset button hiding in the hole for about 5 seconds and turn your router back on, the use default username and password to log into the router config, set up a new password and you're done. The Password should be on the bottom or the back. If you changed the default password from -- admin and password . There is a very small reset button on the bottom or back you press to set the router back to factory default. Now if you have to do that all settings will be reset also. you will have to reset all your internet settings. You will loose your network until it is all straightened out.
The default user name is - admin all lower case, the default password is - password, also lower case.

if its the bios password just clear the cmos or remove the bios battrie for few mins and disconnect all power and turn the pc on it will start for a realy short second its just to clear all the power wait 10-15 mins put back in bios battrie or put cmos jumper back in defult poz and plug it back in and away u go

On most routers, there is a reset button on either the back or the bottom. Unplug the router, push and hold that button for thirty seconds, then keep it pushed while plugging in the router. let it start up, and then it should be reset back to factory defaults. Use the default username and password to enter it and then put the password you want back in it. The default username is usually administrator or admin, and the password is usually password or just blank. If these combos don't work, do a search on the internet for default password for your make and model of router.

You mean the router password? By default there's no username and the password is admin. If you can't remember your previous password, you can just reset the router. Hold the reset button at the back of the router for 20 seconds then unplug the power for 30 seconds, plug it back in. It should be defaulted back to admin as the password.
