If you are saying this happens on a really cold night, the assumption is that on milder nights, it seems to work adequately.....If that's the case, there is a possibility that it is marginally sized in capacity to heat the space in which it is installed. If it has a "fresh air" damper setting, make sure that is closed completely, because that is air directly from outside the structure that is being brought in through the blower and adds more load to the space and makes the discharge air feel colder.

Testimonial: "Yes, we closed that damper setting, temp like 40 or lower, customer start complaining about heat, we reinspect all units,in some unit's heating coils's end part is dark brown, seems like fuse is attached and it burnt. is any idea can you provide us? thx a lot"

SOURCE: Kenmore Dryer Model 110

If all of the components are reading ok then you need a timer. Touch your 2 leads together. 0 ohms rght. That means you have a complete circuit. If you get the 0 reading then the element must be otay. Bad timer. Take that fancy meater of yours and atttach one of them leads to the timer leg marked RH. Yank the wire off the terminal beore you test. Move the timer around. You should get the famous 0 reading along the way. If you don't then that means you have the bad timer.

SOURCE: Will not heat, it only blow cold air, how do I change the heating element inside the unit

If the drum turns, it could be as simple as a blown fuse or breaker. The dryer has doule breaker or fuses at fuse panel. If the one blows, the heater will not work but motor willturn as motor rums on 110volts. It may be cut out thermostat or could be element, but check the power to the plug of dryer out let and make sure you getting 110 volts on from neutral to both sides and 220 between two live lines.

SOURCE: my dryer tumbles but throws cold air.

See if there is a high limit thermostat and if there is, check it with an ohm meter. There should be no resistance. If there is resistance, the high limit thermostat is bad and must be replaced.391cb07.jpgThis is a picture of the thermal fuse and high temperature thermostat for your model dryer, to give you an idea of what it looks like. Hope this helped.

PTAC Blows Cold Air in Heating Mode when it reaches -3F less than the Set Value on the Thermostat - Model: AZ65H15DABW6

It sounds like your PTAC (packaged terminal air conditioner) unit is malfunctioning. When the thermostat is set to heating mode, the PTAC should be blowing warm air, not cold air. There are a few possible causes for this issue:
  1. The PTAC may be low on refrigerant. If the unit is low on refrigerant, it may not be able to properly heat the air.
  2. The PTAC's reversing valve may be stuck in the cooling position. The reversing valve is responsible for switching the flow of refrigerant between heating and cooling mode. If it is stuck in the cooling position, the PTAC will blow cold air even when the thermostat is set to heating mode.
  3. The PTAC's heating element may be malfunctioning. If the heating element is not functioning properly, the PTAC will not be able to heat the air.
I recommend contacting a trained HVAC technician to diagnose and fix the issue with your PTAC. They will be able to determine the cause of the problem and repair it properly.

I have an LG hotel ac/heat ptac unit. It is showing a code of FP what does this mean?

I'm pretty sure the FP code means freeze protection engaged. It prevents the outside coil from freezing

My 7yr old Amana PTAC unit, Model PTH123B50AJ sometimes works and sometimes not. I had a repair tech check it & he told me the control board was bad and they wanted $440 to fix it. I told him no,

EBay often has the control boards for Amana heat pumps, and installing them is fairly straightforward, provided you have some experience with electronics, a soldering iron, etc. Amanapartsonline.com may also be able to sell you the part, which should run between $50 and $150.

Given, however, that the thermostat is also showing problems, as well as what parts are going for these days, I'd seriously consider upgrading to a new unit and selling the old one on Craigslist to offset the cost a bit. If you can find an HVAC technician, someone who's learning HVAC, someone who just wants it for a guestroom where it need not work perfectly or a landlord who can afford to have a secondhand unit fixed and put it in one of their properties for their tenants to buy your fixable old one for a few hundred dollars and a new one only runs about $700, your upgrade will cost less than having the 7-year-old unit repaired, plus you'll be recycling.

Fan stopped working

Without knowing the model, I would first check the fan motor for seizing, then if not seized, I would replace the fan capacitor. (Available at most appliance parts stores or
HVAC parts stores). If this is a motel type PTAC unit (through the wall) I would be looking
at the control panel as the third item to check, as these fail often.
The fan capacitor is a small cylinder with usually 2 wires coming to it and at least one of them come from the fan and has its values stamped on the side.
Hope this helps.
