There should be a small hose that is spraying the water. That hose should be put inside the overflow tube and heald in place with a clip or put into a small hole on top of the tube. Only put the tube in just enough to hold it in place. If it is spraying from anywhere else you need to replace or repair the ballcock.

The toilet tank has 2 dips in the back wall and the lid does not cover them. it is allowing moisture to get on the wall and cause mold. should those dips be there or?

yes. Why so much moisture? There shouldn't be any unless you have hot water filling the tank or a spray of water shooting out. Check it out.

The water level is too low in my Kohler toilet bowl. Level in the tank is fine. How do I adjust the bowl level?

check the (white) tube in the tank. it should connect to the top of the black reservoir. mine came loose and had the same problem. you can check the diagram on the inside of the tank lid.

Water in bowl. water level almost below where bowl saris to widen! , Kohler cimmarron - Toilet tank is full, all water flushes out of tank when flushed it's been this way since we installed it

If I understand correctly, your water level inside the bowl is 3 or 4 inches from the top of toilet seat?
Sounds peculiar to have that water level since you would get splashing etc.
That is not sanitary, and would be a code violation.
Look at side profile of tank.
Look at porcelain behind bowl and you can see outline of "s trap."
This is the internal trap that each toilet has built in.
Purpose of trap is to a) set water level inside bowl and b) just like a sink trap, seal pipe from sewer air from entering home.
Photo shows trap on sample toilet, with line showing approximate level of water inside bowl.
Since photo is at an angle, the line appears to go downward instead of level. Again the line is approximation, and photo intended to show where you can look on your toilet.
Your tank should have similar s-trap feature. From the feature on your tank, you can see what level water is intended to be inside bowl.
Some more expensive tanks, outline of s-trap is not apparent.

If the water level is so high that you experience unsanitary conditions, this is a code violation, and toilet should be replaced.

I have the Kohler toilet with the top actuator, it flushes fine but won't stop running. If I lift the tank top I'm making the toilet flush again. Can this be fixed or do i have to replace the whole system?

(Problem 1) if you can see the water running in the bowl it's a good chance that the flappers warn. you'll have to look at the angle where the light hits the water. The water will be rippling where the top of the water meets the inside of the bowl edge.
For more info on how a toilet works = http://www.aplumbers.com/residential/toilet
solution 1
1. tank the tank lid off.
2. flush, the rubber thing that comes up and allows the water to go to the bowl is the flapper 3. remove 4. replace that should fix it.

problem 2 it could be the water levels to high.
(solution 2)
1. tank tank lid off.
2. if the waters flowing over the long tube in the center and down then the water level is too high 3. adjust the level either it will have a ball **** or a float in either case a ball **** adjusts by a screw on the fill valve. the float has a either a metal rod w/ a pinch clamp or a plastic long screw type thing. 4. adjust water level . 5. lift the flapper to allow a little water out til fill valve kicks on then release handle til valve stops . 6. just keep re adjusting til you get the water level right there should be a molded in line for the level on the back of the tank.

Water spits out of toilet bowl when toilet is flushed

If your referring to the tank, take the lid off and make sure the small tube is connected from the filler valve to the top of the overflow tube. If that's connected properly, flush the toilet with the tank top off and locate the source of the spray. A small crack in the fill valve can cause a significant spray.

Water continues to overfill in tank into refill valve

Hi and thank you for using fixya:
Inside the tank there is a long standing tube that at the top end it has a little buoy that regulates how much water needs to be in the tank if you push it up you are going to see the water stops to run. So just bend it down a little about an inch
thanks

Toilet tank fill valve sprays water towards lid

Hi bpmorr1,

It may be that the fill tube has come disconnected . It runs from the top of the fill valve to the overflow. The overflow is the tube that runs up the middle of the tank. The fill tube runs from the top of the fill valve to the top of the overflow tube. Kohler has a little clip that can sometimes come undone and cause spraying.

If that doesn't do it, turn the water off to the toilet and take off the tank lid. Partially open valve ( Slowly). Locate where spray is coming from. If it is in the area on top of the fill valve then yes, buy anew one. ( Fluidmaster )

Please rate this response and good luck, Phil
