I think you are confusing the channel on the tv and the channel of the cable company that is not something that you can pick up with the scan tv, scan tv is good for picking up local channel meaning air channel that we get with a antenna only not the cable chanel

Try to re tune but it goes throught the motions but does not pick up any channels at all. Tried this many many times. all cabled up correctly. help required please. Its a TWFdigital STB501 Box (Digital...

You need to have a newer digital antena hooked up to it also if your tv is flat panel and its less than say 2 years old the digital tuner should be built in. I dont mean to sound dumb but if you are using a digital coverter box and thats what the antenna is hooked up to make sure your in the menu of the converter box. You can determine this by what channel the TV is on. If you hooked the Box to the coaxle then your TV should be on 3 or 4 if you used Composite(RCA) cables then it should be on aux. But once again I will say the antanna makes all the difference with digital. Old ones do not work. Please respond with more info if this doesnt help.

The program light blinks all the time. I do not have a remote. I have a convertor box on the tv and an antanna but I keep getting a message saying to check antanna and connections, no sinal. I get a few...

I'm assuming you are getting more than two digital channels into the converter so the problem lies in how the converter is connected to the TV, which I presume is via a coaxial cable, right and you have the TV tuned to analog channel 3 or 4, right?

If that is all true, the RF coax cable solution is not going to work. The few channels you were getting, either side of 3 or 4 is just RF bleed.

Try this, acquire somehow a A/V hookup cable that has 3 RCA male jacks on each end. One cable will have YELLOW ends, This is composite VIDEO. There will be two others colored RED and WHITE (or perhaps black). This is for the AUDIO. The outputs on the converter and the inputs should be colored the same way. Hook the two up, noting which INPUT (1, 2 or 3) on the TV you have plugged into. Not sure of the exact number your TV has. Make sure you change the TV to INPUT whatever. You may also have to re-scan your converter. As long as your antenna is connected correctly gto the converter you should gain a lot more channels. Let me know how you make out.

I have a vcr/dvd hooked up to my present tv with a antanna. How do i hook up the digital converter. so thatI still could use vcr. Thank You

It depends on brand of converter. In Radioshack they have one with AV-in ports (for $56 (-$40 coupon = $16). So TV signal going trough antenna and DVD/VCR going trough AV-in of converter to the same antenna of TV. Or you will have to hook up the CONVERTER - ANTENNA IN VCR/DVD - Antenna OUT VCR/DVD - ANTENNA IN TV. And you will use the remote of converter to switch the channels.

Element FLX 3210 not scanning for cable channels

YOU HAVE A BAD TUNER OR RF INPUT. IF YOU CONNECT THE CABLE TO THE VCR AND THEN USE THE VIDEO OUTPUT OF THE VCR TO THE VIDEO INPUT OF THE TV YOU CAN USE THE TUNER IN THE VCR TO CHANGE CHANNELS.

No uhf with antannae

UHF channels are basically "line of sight" type signals. You need to be pretty near those UHF stations.
You need a Uhf or combination Uhf/ Vhf antenna to receive them - - Usually an out-door type.
Your TV needs to be set in the "antenna" mode to tune beyond channel 13 "air type" channels. Channel 14 is the first UHF channel if you're in the antenna mode. If you're in the "Cable" mode then channel 14 is a cable channel which is operating at a different frequency from UHF.
I hope this will help you!
