Analog line vs. digital line

I believe that the Arris DCX3635 gets your subscriber information from the internet connection to your ISP. Without that information, it can't tell which channels you have subscribed to and should be able to watch. The coax cable carries all of the digital cable video content but doesn't have two-way communication with the provider.

Unfortunately, this is corresponds to the old satellite boxes that used the telephone line to get the subscriber information. That worked better since POTS didn't drop unless something broke/chewed on the wires.

Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line.
It needs an ADSL modem, a telephone line, and filters for all the phones in the house. Your existing telephone line must be enabled by your Telco to handle ADSL traffic. You can go on the internet and use your phone line.

These phones are digital proprietary telephones which means that they only work on panasonic telephone systems and not on normal analog lines. If you have a panasonic system the correct way is to plug the line into the " To Main Unit ", the handset into " Handset/Headset" and a normal analog phone into " To Tel ". If the wiring on the line jack was not done digitally the phone will also not work

If there is a power failure or if you accidentally disconnect the power cord, the date/time settings as well as all documents stored in memory will be lost. User data and speed dialing settings are retained. If the power disconnects, the following will apply:

You will not be able to send or receive faxes or make copies.

If a telephone is connected to the machine, you can receive voice calls.

Whether you are able to make voice calls depends on the type of your telephone.

Verizon is lying to you. fax machines are ANALOG devices and will not work reliablyon DIGITAL phone lines.

please tell who is your internet provider(i.e) whether it bsnl or airtel or tata indicom....like that....if you send this to me i can tell you quickly.....otherwise mail to id [email protected] will get the helpline no next min......

Modem:

1) A device (modulator/demodulator) that allows computer information to be sent over a telephone line.

2) Equipment that converts digital signals into analog signals for purpose of transmission over a telephone line. Signal is then converted back to digital form so that it can be processed by a receiving computer. Modems are typically used to link computers via telephone lines. ...
3) Acronym for MODulator/DEModulator. A device that transforms digital signals from the computer into electrical impulses for transmission over telephone lines, and does the reverse in reception.
4) A modem (from modulate and demodulate) is a device that modulates an analog carrier signal to encode digital information, and also demodulates such a carrier signal to decode the transmitted information. A device that transmits digital data in tones over a phone line.

IN GENERAL IT IS A DEVICE TO CONNECT THE COMPUTER TO THE INTERNET.

Hey Tony - Did you recently hook this up to the DSL for the first time? This unit is supposedly not able to work with a DSL line.

The fax modem in your AIO is an analog device and cannot be used on an ISDN, DSL, or PBX digital phone service. However, you can connect certain devices to your AIO that let you use the fax function in addition to these digital phone services.

To connect without an unsupported line:
Connect an active telephone cable from the AIO to the telephone wall jack.

To connect with an unsupported line:
• If you use an ISDN phone service, you can connect to an analog telephone port (an R-interface port) on an ISDN terminal adapter.
For more help and to request an R-interface port, contact the ISDN provider.
• If you use a DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) phone service, you can connect to a DSL filter or router that will allow for some analog (rather than digital) use.
• If you use a PBX phone service, you can install an analog phone line for a fax machine.

If this was working on the DSL let me know. I don't know the location but obviously a separate phone jack is the easiest. Let me know. If this helps you fix it you can rate this as fixed. Fax machines are ANALOG devices designed to work with POTS (plain old telephone system).

Sometimes you can get away with a fax or two w/digital lines, but the machine will be very unreliable.

I don't think there is any damage as the machines have voltage limiter circuits built in. [except for lightning]
