How to stop the hold music from playing through the speaker constantly?

Depends on the model of NEC system you have but since you are using a Dterm DTP set you might have an IPK II in which case you need to press Speaker 7 2 5 Speaker. If that does not work the=n you might have an Electra Elite in which case I think the toggle for Background Music is Feature 26 Feature. Try that. Without picking up the handset, press "1" on the keypad. It turns background music on and off.

Not sure of the model number, but Panasonic phones normally not connected to a TDA/TDE/NCP and TAW system have a toggle to turn background music ON/OFF. On the idle phone, press "1".

If that works, then I guessed right again :-) If not, try dialing *7510 on the intercom which will work on the systems mentioned above.

Sounds like your music on hold is also your background music. Need to use the background music on/off code to toggle this feature to the off setting. Don't have it in front of me, should be Function,49, Function.

The solution is press 1 on hook condition. this is Back ground music .

Plug it back in and press "1" without picking up the handset.

JUST PUSH 1 WHEN RECEIVER IS ON HOOK.

I guess this is a common problem huh. No worries!

First: Click on your music button and play a song as you would normally do on your phone (make sure your speaker is on during this point).

Second: Click on the speaker button so you can listen to your music through your ear piece (as your music is still playing). If you don't hear your music through your ear piece wait until you hear it. It shouldn't take more than a minute. (Your music should be playing throughout this whole process)

Follow these steps every time you come across this problem.
