There are two levers located on the base of the chair on the left and right sides. Depending on the model, they will be located on top of the base on the front section of the chair base, or on the rear or on the lower sides. Most rotate 90 degrees to disengage the gears so you can manually push the chair. Others are moved up and down, or in and out. Return them to the locked position when done.

Hi there, The free wheel on the jazzy 1121 is actually controlled be a lever at the back in the middle, if you look at the back of the chair there is a lever about 4-5 inches long right in the middle under the plastic I have uploaded a picture to help you find it:
there is a lever guard to stop it slipping position this needs to be lifted as you pull the lever towards to top of the chair, it should move about 2-3 inches, when in the free wheel position you can push the chair though due to weight of the chair it is not that easy.

You might also want to take out the motor brushes and clean or replace if needed.

If you need more help just ask.
If this has helped you could you please click "YES" box.

Regards, Mark.

My jazzy 600 chair was working fine. Now I cannot go up or down a simple ramp. The chair works just fine until the ramp hits wheels then the chair shuts off and leaves me stuck. Please any help is...

have the batteries checked, there are two gel cell 12 volt batteries, that if one or both will not hold a charge, they will fail on incline as the load on the chair is greater going up hill. Test this out by trying a hill near your house. I had to change one of the batteries in another model Pride that my wife uses for the same problem. The one battery would not hold a charge.

My mother-in-law has a jazzy 113 for about 6-7 years and the 2 wheels broke in half. How can this happen when it is a solid wheel? Please let me know what to do. Its the back wheels.

Liz First Did Medicare buy MIL's chair? If they did contact me @ [email protected] and I'll give you more info. Now after that long the tires get brittle and usually need replacement. You can contact the provider where MIL got her chair and have them get the caster wheels for the chair. Hope this helps

Replaced battery in jazzy 600 wheelchair and the light comes on, but wheelchair will not do anything.

Make sure that your drive wheels are engaged and the power chair is not in the freehweel position (so it can be pushed).

I don't know what to release so the cair can be pushed manually. I had it donated to me so don't have a manual

There are release levers on the motors usually underneath the rear of the chair or in the jazzy look behind each of the wheels for a gray lever Hope this helps

Jazzy wheel chair

When a chair sits for a long period of time ( four weeks or more) without being charged, the batteries die. To help you with the freewheel mode I would have to know what model of Jazzy it is.
