First step is connect an external keyboard in USB port. Click start button, type "keyboard" in "search programs and files", in control panel, click "keyboard". In keyboard properties,, click Hardware tab, click properties button. click the driver tab in Standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS.......Check the button the if keyboard is Enabled. Or you can update keyboard driver through internet or in your original Acer CD Driver software.

1. you need to remove the power cover (if you see the power button, that what i mean).
2. after you remove that cover, you will see 2 screw that hold the keyboard. Remove both screws.
3. Remove keyboard and replace it with new keyboard.

SOURCE: can't find keyboard for acer aspire 5515-any other model same sz

I'm not 100% but the 5500 series all use the same board. What is the DFE model number on the back of the keyboard?

If you can't find a keyboard for it, you could always use a USB desktop keyboard until you find one.

Testimonial: "I have to look what the DFE # is, hopefully i can match it up that way since i can't find any parts for model #5515. Thank you"

SOURCE: i have an acer aspire one and somehow disabled the

if you can ..go to device manager by right click on the my computer than properties/hardware /device manager
here you have to locate the keyboard ..if it is not present ..just right click on computer and hit scan for hardware changes.. this will bring it to view...after that install it by right click and update driver ...it will find the driver that was before...
if any problems interfere and this will not be possible ...just go to bios...(using a usb keyboard if this one will not work in bios) click to optimal factory defaults )
this will enable it but may not be installed...reboot without the usb one in ...and let it be installed...by windows...
in the last resort if not even one of these works ..just reinstall windows..this will fix all..

If you want to replace your keyboard, buy keys and replace it, if you can't replace it by yourself, take it to somebody knows how to replace it.

Keyboard letter not working

Disabling just a single key on Windows is possible, but it is highly unlikely that a computer technician could have gone to Control Panel to remap the keyboard.

More likely, one of the keyboard switches is broken, and the A letter is not working anymore. This happens quite commonly, and when the problem occurrs, the keyboard will be replaced.

You can find out if problem is hardware or software going to CMOS settings, and chosing to set a password. Then setting BIOS password AAA. If the A letter works in there, then the problem is software, and it can be fixed reinstalling Windows, if A key does not work in BIOS settings, then the keyboard must be replaced.

The keyboard for an Acer 5315 is not an expensive part, and can be purchased for less than $20.

If a repair job had recently been done, and the laptop came back withthe keyboard problem, try calling back the repairman, and insisting for having the repair done at a reduced fee.

My cursor jumps around in Outlook and also highlights things

Sounds like a hardware problem with your trackpad or your keyboard. I suggest attaching an external mouse and keyboard, then disable the touchpad and keyboard drivers in device manager. Reboot and see if it still happens

Aspire 4315 keyboard problem

this is usually caused by the user brushing against the mouse pad or tracker point, some laptops use ase smart software to detect when you are typing whilst others use a disable switch which disables the trackpad/mousepad

Acer Aspire 3000 keyboard failing

The problem is the battery as mentioned before. Disabling "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Battery Method" should solve the problem of the keybord and the mouse, this is, because the driver dosen't work properly with a bad battery. I think it fires a lot of hard interruptions that are blocking the keybord and the mouse interruption to the system (each time a key is pressed an interruption is send to the processor... if the battery driver sends a lot of interruptions, the key interruptions don't have time to be processed in time - that explains the fact that the system responds to a key press is that bad)
