How do i factory restore my compac persario cq5602f

Please turn off the computer, start hitting F8 at the start-up and then choose last known good configuration. If this does not work, choose Safe mode options.
If still does not work, please try to restore the computer to factory settings. You can try to hit F11 or F10 at the startup to initiate recovery.
If not working, please tell me what error message you get on the screen.

your power button is on the right of the tower under the usb and sound ports. now for a reset button there is no such thin. that button will turn on and off your computer,. if u are looking to restore computer o factory default u should have got some system restore cds or when you boot it up you should see a f12 or f2 or f10 that will take you into system restore mode and you can restore system back to originally factory defaults.

I do not know why your icons disappeared by running the Download, but your programs are still in the on board ROM memory and what you are missing are your desk top icons. I have tried to duplicate your download problem but so far have not been able. I know that using a SD card will not download a usuable file so I used a thumb drive.

Any way please read the following solution that I wrote to another poster.

If you have deleted the icons for those programs on your desk top, then they may be in your Recycle trash bin. double click on Recycle Bin look for the icon for recorder, right click on recorder and select restore. You really cannot delete the programs from your machine as they are retained in a ROM chip , hard coded into the chip and are loaded each time you cut your machine on. The only thing you can do is delete the icons on the desktop, which are sent to the recycle bin.
To retore the machine to factory settings, there is a small hole just about an inch down from the data plate on the back. Using a pencil point or a straightened paper clip, insert the bject into the hole and hold for about 5 seconds. Your deleted icons are not replaced.
A second method to restore your icon is to click on my computer right click on the recorder, select copy, dismiss my computer, find a blank spot on your desktop and right click on that spot, select paste, and a dos type icon appears as your recorder button. When you cut the machine of and back on the Dos type icon is replaced with a CE type icon
To restore all icons:
You can: If you can click on start, click on run, type desk top into the open space and ok it. your icons should be shown. you will have to copy and paste each one back to your desk top, or select edit and then select select all, then click on file, select send to, and select desk top as short cut. the issue might be with the power jack . i mean the port where you insert the charger.. to fix this issue your laptop needs to be repaired.

Go to Computer, program file, find webcam file, right click and add shortcut to your desk top.

If you are talking about the  BIOS settings, go into the setup routine  and change the settings to the default or safe settings and then save them. If you are refering to software go to the Windows  RESTORE and restore your computer to the earliers date that it will alow you to do. If your computer came with a restore disk, or restore function Run it.  I hope this helps.

Sorry it took me a while to track down your computer.  Basically you can hold two 1GB chips in your computer.

You can also upgrade the HDD as large as you would like, but that is not going to be cheap, and you have a large enough hard drive.
