Maybe it's time to replace the lamp, have you ever changed the lamp on the TV before? If not, I recommend you do it, because it might be the main issue. Another thing can be the inverter board but you'll never know until you put another lamp in the TV and see for how ling it works, If it lasts less than 4 months, it will definitely be that board.

Check your manual to see how to reset the lamp timer. When it reaches the limit it will not turn on till it's reset. With most units it is a combonation of button pushes.

Is it Sony KP-57WS500 tv or any other model?
Does tv show standby light blinking, if yes, count it after 3 seconds long pause and let me know to diagnose problem.
