Vizio L32 32 in. LCD HDTV Questions & Answers
Closed caption wont turn off
I have a Vizio VX37L that i purchased on 12/26/08 and I had the same problem by 1/4/09. My five year old son loves to futz around with buttons and switches and he somehow enabled closed captions from the front of my Motorola digital cable box (I had it hooked up to the Vizio via HDMI 1.)
What you need to do is turn off your cable box and leave the Vizio on. Hit the "Menu" button on the front of the cable box and that should bring up a setup screen on your TV. Using the down cursor button on the front of the cable box, go down to the "Close Caption" section on the setup screen. It probably says "Enabled." Click on the right cursor button to disable CC and you should be good to go.
Green Square appears on screen
Had same issue with my LG so I trouble shot the issue by noticing the green square would disappear if I switched to dvd(HDMI-2 ) Or HDMI-3. Which lead me to believe it was being generated by my Xfinity box (HDMI-1. So I first rebooted box. With no success I then unplugged box all together. Tah Dahhh! Problem fixed. Hope this helps.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! mattymcmatt has the solution!!! I have had trouble with my Visio 26" remote ever since I got it several years back. I have tried everything... batteries, unplug TV, press each button on remote, etc... just bought a new remote, and tried all the above 'fixes' AGAIN nothing has worked. read mattymcmatt's fix of unplugging tv held down the on button on the tv for little over a minute, plugged tv back in and and VIOLA my remote is now WORKING!!! thankyou matty!!!!
Hisense LCD32V77
it must be a power supply malfunction; if you`re not a tehnician , please contact the nearest repair shop.
LCD TV blows fuses
Since the main fuse is being effected, it suggests that there is a major problem in the power supply section. I would be looking for a shorted rectifier diode. If you have any experience with electronics, you may be able to locate this problem. If hte set is still in warranty, return it for warranty service. If not, try loking for burned components etc.

Can't change channel using the remote or buttons on tv
Simple Fix
I had the same problem, couldn't change the channels with the remote or on the side of the TV. This was for a Vizio 37"
Here is the fix:
1. Turn on TV
2. With remote, press the Menu Button
3. Go to Antenna Menu
4. Select Auto Search
Let it search, it could take several minutes. It may not finish to 100%, mine got stuck at 79% for 10 minutes. It's fine if that happens, go ahead and cancel.
5. It should be done, your remote will work perfect along with the TV channel buttons.
The picture on my tv is too big
The other poster was right, there is a zoom button on my CABLE REMOTE and once I pressed that my problem was solved. It's funny none of the techs knew that, at either Vizio or Comcast.
Hope this helps.
What is the white paste looikng stuff on the capacitors
Some say its' for "heat dissipation". I'm not sure about that. I would think it would insulate the heat (like a blanket), than to dissipate it. To dissipate heat properly, it needs a heat sink made from aluminum or a fan.If your capacitor is overheating, then something else is wrong. They should not get hot. They do go bad, but they should not get hot. If they get hot, then you have a bigger problem. Capacitors should only get warm - if that. Usually they are cold, during operation, unless they are near a heat source.
GE 57 inche HDTV
Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.
