I have one 12inch 1000 watt mtx sub what size amp should i buy

Hello taona80,

If the 1,000 watts is RMS, I'd recommend an amp in the 750-1,000 watt RMS range, perhaps like the Alpine MRP-M1000 or Rockford-Fosgate T1000bd. If the 1,000 watts is peak power, the subs continuous (RMS) power handling is much lower, probably 300-400 watts. In that case, I'd recommend the Alpine MRP-M500 or Rockford-Fosgate T500-1bd.

DON'T KNOW WHAT WIRING KIT TO USE FOR 400WATT 4 CHANNEL AMP

well i will let you know now that 400 watts running into two subs like that will never match. You will want to run only one sub or get a bigger amp. But for that amp a standard 6 gauge power wire will be sufficient to run it. The ground wire about 4 gauge is good.

Is it good

If you are using a GM-7200 amp, it should sound great. Both the amp and the subs are rated at 800 watts so be careful not to overload the bass by turning them on full power. It is good practice to have a slightly lower watt amp than the subwoofers. If you can power your rear speakers from the amp, that would take away some power to prevent the subs from overloading. Overall, you should get a nice THUMP!!
