When phone line is ringing it is not showing the usual black triangle next to Line 1, 2, 3 etc. Once answering a call and placing on hold then again it's not showing a line in use. The beep beep happens when the call is coming back to you but I cannot retrieve the call as the line is not showing as in use. Help!
That might mean that the line(s) is(are) not programmed for that telephone. If you press feature * 0 then one of the line buttons, does it list as a line or blank?

To program telephone lines on the set you will need to go into administration programming.
The answer depends on the type of processor you have. Hopefully this will help. Try feature **266344 (config) Screen should say 'password' Enter in 266344 again Screen should change to 'terminals and sets' The top 4 buttons on the telephone are now programming keys (heading, back, next & show) Press the top right arrow Screen should ask for a set number Enter the extension number you wish to program the line on, press top right arrow, screen should say 'line access' Press top right arrow, screen should say 'line assignment' Press top right arrow, enter in line number you wish to program on the set (001 through 004, line 1 through 4, 031 through 034, lines 5 through 8) Screen will say '001 unassigned' Press the change key located on the soft keys below the screen, keep pressing until the screen shows 'appear & rign' Press bottom right arrow key Screen should say '002 unassigned' repeat process for additional lines if necessary. Press the RLS (release) key & that's it. Hope this takes care of the problem.
