Generator engine running but voltage is half of regular 110 volts

With the generator SHUT OFF - and NOT RUNNING, open up the covers and make sure all the electrical wires are connected. It sounds like one of the leads from the alternator has come loose.

My 3000 watt Duracell inverter will not start a 1 1/2 hp electric motor. The voltage drops to 45v and the electric motor struggles to reach full rpm. This is a table saw with no load. The generator revs...

have the saw motor checked for internal and wiring problems
check the start/run capacitor of the electric motor
running a 1 1/2 hp motor (1075 watts) on a generator that has a running wattage of around 2250 watts means that it should start and come to speed immediately if the motor is good
the problem indicates that there is a circuit problem in the saw motor that is exceeding the available wattage (3000 watts ) on start up

With my generator running i have ac power but my ac does not come on

Make sure your generator is rated high enough to run you a/c. Also is you a/c 120v or 240v? Do you have it plugged into the right voltage?

Engine runs but won't generate any electricity

Sometimes the generator loses the magnetic field that allows it to produce power. Do a Google search on "flashing a generator field". There are many ways to do it, but I would recommend doing some reading before trying it. Your "dead" generator could produce hazardous voltage once it comes back to life.

Also, before trying any of this, make sure the circuit breakers on the generator (if equipped) are not tripped.

Good luck and be careful!
