I need more transmission range for free

A lot of people will say that you need to peak and tune the radio to get more range. And it will, but what it really comes down to is your antenna system.

Even with the best peak and tune, if you don't have a good antenna system, it won't do you any good.

You need to make sure the antenna is a good match. If you don't know what that means, then you should refer to your manual on SWR. The antenna has to be tuned so that transmit power does not get reflected back into the radio. If that is happening, all of the RF power is not leaving the antenna, and you are not getting out as good as you can.

Once you have a good antenna system, then you can worry about peak and tuning. But for a peak and tune, I charge.

I have a stock 88 and i was woundering if i could run a power mic on it and i was woundering how much for a tune up and a mod kit added to her

Yes you can add a Power Mic but do not expect a lot of positive gain from it as the Galaxy already has a Power Mic Circuit inside the radio and you will only be duplicating it at best, more that likely overdriving it. A good quality microphone like a Shure Controlled Magnetic would be a better choice. A tune upi will help emincely as these radios are mass produced and are not peaked to preformance like asuper tune will do both improving both the transmit and the recieve. Yes the Mod Kits help a lot if they are both the right ones and they are professionally installed and aligned. You can call 706 270 39829 they can help you as they are Galaxy / Ranger Experts.
