It must be a bad internal speaker, but also check the external speaker jack for broken solder. Good Luck

1. Get the noise then disconnect the coax and see if noise goes away on receive, if noise goes away then address the ground on your antenna,
if noise still there then address the ground wire from power source

sounds to me like a bad PLL chip. but then again, I'm no Master tech myself.

If the antenna for the other properly operating radio is used with the radio with the noise and you are getting the static then we can assume it is the radio. If you hear signals with the static, that is, it does receive communications at the same time, there may be a problem with the noise reduction circuitry, or a defective component(s) in the receiver. Without knowing your experience I would suggest taking to a radio shop.

• Is it drifting off frequency by the radios meter or an external meter. If its the radios meter then hook up a meter externally.

adjust the hi and low power on side band ,also make sure you have good SWR match.

on the face plate is a button for the counter ,try pushing it several times to see if the dot moves. As long as the channel display is reading the correct channel you should be ok but you want to correct this problem . If you can't correct it contact Galaxy and they will have a tech talk to you.

I'm not going to be corrected on this as i'm tempted to say A or C and sometime D. Instead i would say switch channel to 19 then watch frequency counter as you change band selector until you find 27.185 and you have arrived.

tryadding a 470k ohm resister from the junction of c154/r207 to the junction of C-187 / R-235 on the solder side of the board.

turn the talkback knob to the right and push it in to engage talkback.when you get the volume you want leave it alone .Now key the mic.You will probably hear a squeal coming from the speaker.Now turn the volume down on the talkback knob until the squeal goes away.If you run your RF gain wide open it may squeal also.

could be a lot of things. How your S.W.R. if its bad your radio is not performing properly. you could have a final problem. Check the voltage going to the audio IC. Do you have a service manual,you're going to need one.If you don't want to go through the process of elimination then maybe you should take it to a tech.

if you hooked it up its wrong but I assume you didn't.First of all talkback is a feature that allows you to hear your voiceand you don't5 need a radio check because you can tell by your own voice how your radio sounds if you want it to work on am you need to attach a 33ohm resistor from the positive to the neg of the external and pa plug ins. the talkback will be on all the time by the way.
