I dont have any idea about compatibility or versions of motherboards and video cards... is gt 430 will work in ms-7309 ver 1.3

Its pci-e video card and your motherboard has a pci-e slot. Give it a try, you might want to have your driver disc nearby so you can just install the video drivers if need be.

Your board is actaully listed as a model K8mm-V on the MSI website. Here is a link to the MSI page with the correct drivers for your board. These will work for Version 1 or 2 boards:

Which gpu's are compatible with this motherboard
Nvidia and AMD (formally ATI) are chip makers for video cards. Your slot is PCI-e x16, which is good because it may allow physically smaller cards to be inserted. Don't think about the size since your's is x16, but rather the version of PCI-e.

So, if your slot is PCI-e x16 version 1. Don't purchase a version 2 card. It is not compatible. On the other, hand if you have a PCI-e x16 version 2 you can add ver 1 or ver 2 card. The slot is backward compatible.

I am going to upgrade ram to 1 gb. can i use ddr2 1 gb ram to upgrade .motherboard is microstar model ms-6526 ver: 2 . present ram is ddr1 400 MHz, 512 MB
If your computer has two RAM slots on the motherboard, i would recommend trying it. The computer will run on the 512MB stick alone and just not recognise the other stick. And if it works it works.

I have searced for support documentation and came up with none for the original MS-6526

I run my original version MS-6526 on a 512MB PC2300 (DDR1) and a 512MB PC3200 (DDR1) and it runs just fine for games and videos.

Personally I would recommend trying the DDR2 first and if that fails, return the card and get a DDR1 card. They are expensive, but at least they work.

Hi James,

As I can see here that you need the jumper setting specifications for your motherboard K9N6SGM V2 #MS-7309 with a single IDE port.

Even this is for version 1 the layout for the Jumper settings are still the same with your version 2 motherboard the only differences with version to are the changes on the support and bios version
