Scanning I recently bought a Canon Pixma MP480 Printer all in one. We have a Windows Vista Home Basic computer, bought at same time. I use the Microsoft Works Word Processer. Will this printer scan and put the article on this application and allow me to type on document? I don't even know how to get it to scan except with photo programs. How can I scan to other functions (programs?)

Here is a link to Canon for your Pixma MP480 software / drivers. You will need to select the OS that your computer is running from the OS drop-down menu, download and then install (run the .exe or install program).

Sounds as though you need the complete software download for your MP240 and Vista. I recommend uninstalling your current driver before using the following from Canon support: (choose your operating system)

I don't know if I understood your problem correctly: you have a Canon Pixma MP480 and you want to install it in a computer with MAC OS and the CD that came with the printer is for Windows systems?

CANON has drivers and software available for your printer and MAC OS X. You can dowload them from PIXMA MP480 Photo All-In-One-Printer support homepage .

On that page, clickon the "Drivers & Downloads" tab and then select your operating system to get a list of compatible drivers, sofware and manuals.
Download the printer and scanner drivers compatible with your system, from "Drivers" section and select and download the software you need from the 'Software section".
For help and troubleshooting installation issues, click on 'Support & Service".
