Hi Press and HOLD the Start/Pause and Cancel buttons simultaneously. As long as the buttons are held, the failure code will appear in the display as an E followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters, please post back with the error code for further assistance. Daniel

error codes start with the letter "E". An error code of E11 will have
the five indicator lights flash once and the Start indicator light
flash once.

Probably you are printing for a legal size paper on letter paper. Check the paper size and be sure you have letter 8 1/2 X 11, or whatever real paper you are loading on the printer.
Un-hook it from the computer. Turn it off then on. See if it may be a code from the computer causing it.
Also, Check inside and make sure there isn't anything that is keeping the carriage from moving freely .
Also, Have you changed cartridges lately?
Reseat the cartridges.
