Belt falls off Dirt Devil upright

Belt keeps coming off- Dirt Devil Breeze Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum 1 year old. Tried new brand name replacement belts, correct for vacuum, installed properly, roller bar tests out fine (spins great) still belt falls off after a minute. On the same carpet it was fine until last month. It looks to me like there is too much space between the end of the motor shaft and the plastic housing- more than other vacs. Still why is it only a problem now? Is there any solution or just toss it in the trash and buy a hoover?

SOURCE: Vacuum Belt keep breaking

When your first belt burnt, the burnt plastics goes into the roller ends and then it dries off causing your roller to not turn or put more pressure on your belt. Until you clean that you will continue burning your belts soon after you put them in. You need to add a little bit of WD40 or any other type of lubricant after you remove the tar from the roller.

Why is my vacuum not pick up

Hi! Your vacuum is most likely not picking up because of a clog, dirty filter or worn belt or a combination of the three. Please try these trouble shooting steps below.

1. Check that the brushes are still spinning. If not replace the belt.
2. Remove the hose from both ends. Use a broom stick to loosen and remove any clogs from the hose.
3. Remove the dirt cup. Remove the red baffle tube by rotating 1/4 turn counter-clockwise. Clear the baffle tube of any hair or debris. Replace the baffle tube.
4. Remove the filter from vacuum base. Hold filter under running water to rinse. Allow 24 hours to air dry before replacing.

Hope this helps get your vacuum back up and running!

Why does the belt keeps comming off

Hello! If your belt keeps coming off, this usually means the belt is stretched and needs to be replaced. The Dirt Devil Breeze takes a Dirt Devil style 4 belt. Follow the link below to purchase the replacement belt. Hope this helps!

Belt slips off motorshaft

It could be an old belt even if the upright is new. Check that the beater bar is not clogged with dust or threads and find a replacement belt for this vacuum and fit it to see if there is any difference. If not, then there's a problem with the vac and it should be returned.

Placing belt back on vacuum it keeps braking
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Dirt Devil M087700SV Bagless Upright Vacuum. From what I can see you may have 2 problems. #1. It may be that your brushroll is not spinning freely and could be bound up with thread, dust and dirt on the bearing ends, or #2. The motor pulley is not spinning freely – you should take the motor pulley and try to spin it and if it spins freely then it must be the brushroll, either cleanout or replace the bearings or buy a new brushroll and start over. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
