SOURCE: recording

Both previous suggestions are wrong. Your machine displays 'wrong disc' as you are trying to use a computer grade CDR, this machine needs a 'consumer audio' grade cdr that are more expensive. Google the manual, it explains further.

You can try other brands of audio cdr but it sounds like your laser is on it's way out. Some find cdrw's still work after cdr's have stopped being recognised.

SOURCE: Wrong disc

Some audio cd's work better than others. I have experienced some problems with the Maxell brand so I switched brands. It can be quirky. Sometimes you get a bad lot of discs. I have had no problems since that bad lot of discs.

For sony rcd-w500c/w100 won't go to record mode.

Make sure you're using CD-R AUDIO or MUSIC blank discs. It won't record onto data discs.

LG RH289H DVD Recorder Unknown Disc. Please check disc again.

I have had the same problem a few times. All I do is eject and re-insert the disk until it recognises it, this seemed to work for me

Goodmans home dvd recorder

Make sure the DVD has been finalised. When you finalise a DVD the recorder puts all the disc content information at the start of the disc so that any device you put it into can find out what is on the disc without scanning through 4.7 Gigs of data, (which would take so long it would drive people mad everytime they put a disc into anything). Because the table has not been written the PC cannot see what is on the Disc.
Another possible answer: some makes, Orion for one have a Virtual Record mode that it was not possible to play in any other device.
And Orion do make products for Goodmans.
Most likely the first answer though.
