Is it possible to use the HP J5780 scanner when it is hooked up via a print server? When I go to scan I get "An error occured with the scanning device. Please ensure that the scanning device is connected properly and try again." Is there not somewhere where you can enter the IP to enable this? Thanks, Kevin when i hit scan to i get an error message that tells me to refer to devise documentation for trouble shooting. i don't have anything like that. any ideas how i get it to scan?
No, print server is just that, print server is only good for printing. I don't know if there are a device you can use for all-in -one office machine. I am looking for one myself.

i have the scanner. not sure what the print server comment was from someone else. i just can't get it to scan without it saying check devise documentation. does not make sense to me.
thanks to all that tried to help, but this is not going to work. i went out and spent 80.00 to get a new one which is worth the rid of frustration that this all gave me. and its wireless too. i would think for the amount of money people spend on HP stuff they would have some free help even if it were just online.
