My Acer LCD flashes on and off continuously while making a 'popping' sound.

It did this before, but then it was working again. It was making some strange noises prior to failing. Like computer noises, beeps and things.

SOURCE: Yep mine too, I have no green light only flash and pop sounds.

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Acer 17" LCD Turns On & Off With A Buzz Sound

not an easy fix in my opinion, power control board is faulty - relay/transformer.
I cant be certain though - look for damaged resistors/transistors.

Bluish screen on Acer AL2016w LCD monitor

Good day sir, you are right I may say, the loss of red will cause the screen to go blue, the cable that connects to the lcd and mainboard usually has 3 wires, red green and blue, my guess is the red wire isnt connected properly. there are two terminals one on the LCD and one on the mainboard. better check both side of that cable. It may be caused by cold solder joints, due to the fact that it pops up occasionally, sad to say that any adjustments wont work. unless it is fixed. hope this may help. if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask again. thanks.

No LCD connectivity

Hello, I am using a Viewsonic lcd projector with my new Acer Aspire One. I did not have connectivity off the bat. Here's what I did: 1. Downloaded driver (unsigned, not the signed version worked - ie not os-specific) for the lcd projector to the Acer. Restart Acer. 2. With lcd projector connected to Acer, toggle function key & F5. But then, continue holding down the function key. A screen pops up with icons for laptop, laptop/monitor, dual monitor, and lcd projector. You continue to hold down the function key and then press the F5 key to move to the desired device. I had to repeat the same process to restore my Acer screen to the original proportion when not using lcd projector. I'm not sure if both steps 1 and 2 are necessary, but I did it simultaneously, so I'm not sure of the origin of success.

Acer Aspire 5610. LCD very dim all of a sudden.

That sounds just like an inverter problems. There is a slim chance the bulb could be a problem, but I would replace the inverter. It is not too hard to do, no soldering involved.

You have to remove the screw covers on the frame of the LCD frame, and then carefully pop off the frame. The inverter should be on the bottom center of the screen.

Be careful, there is a high voltage in that little baby. Just get the full numbers, and do a search on the internet and buy yourself a new inverter to replace the old one.

It's not working!

It seems to be a software failure. Try using your recovery CD to sort it out. If it continuous then i would recommend a clean install if there's nothing that important on your laptop.

Pop-Up flash - Rebel xti

You will need to send the camera for servicing. There's a lever mechanism inside the flash unit which is responsible for popping up the flash. Since it is a mechanical device, it is sometimes prone to failure. I suggest not to put manual pressure to force the flash to come out, as it may cause permanent damage. Instead, send the camera for service.
