Printing blank pages

Hi, it might be the laser head is faulty or hvps is faulty. Try do an test print from the printer by press and hold the buttun for 5 sec or so. If it doesn't print. Try to clean the laser head which is able to be found under the printer with 3 screw. Do not power on the printer and look at the laser head this might cause blindness. After clean place back the laser head and test print. If same issue, try with a new sets of toner. If this still don't work you have to engage an technicians to either replace the laser head or hvps.

My boss want to replace the black ink cartridge for one that prints color. Can this be done with the HP 12-a cartridges? HP Laser jet 1022

Unfortunately laser printers don't work this way. The laserjet 1022 was designed for black and white prints only. In order to do color printing with a laser printer you will need to purchase one that is designed to print in color. The laser printers work a bit differently than the inkjets - the laser printers have 4 toner cartridges, one each for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, that work together to print a full color page. With the old inkjets you could just replace a black cartridge with a color one.

So, short answer: Sorry but no you can't make a laserjet 1022 print in color. :)

I would recommend looking at an entry level color laser printer from hp, such as the CP2025 (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF25a/18972-18972-3328060-15077-236268-3673580.html) if you are looking into purchasing a color laserjet.

Hope this helps

Red prints as Orange

If this is magenta being weak (light) on all the things you print (try doing a test pritn, and a configuration page from the printers own menu system). this will be the dirty laser lens/mirrors problem that is very common with this printer.

Solution is either

Dismantle (it IS quite a lot of work, but fairly straightforward methodical screwdriver work) the printer to remove the laser unit. Take cover off the laser unit and CAREFULLY clean the lenses and mirrors. NOTE take care not to disturb the alignment of any part of the laser optics, and be especially careful with the mirrors as they are surface silvered and V easily scratched.

You can find NEW laser units on a certain internet auction site, and also (genuinely) refurbished exchange printers. Both of these two opttions will obviously save time and effort, but be more expensive.

Bends envelopes in printing

Most laser printers have an "S" paper path. They cannot help bending paper. I would suggest you print lables instead of envelopes if you send several letters. If you only send 1, hand address the envelope. Not elegant ut it works.

Hey,
Try installing the toner/pc drum once more, then print something and when printing open first cover and take out pc drum, look the pc drum, if the pc drum is clean, then the laser wount reach it. laser is located above the pc drum. when you close front cover then there is a little swich in right side what opens laser cover, try to makse sure that it works.
if there is a print marks in pc drum, hten the problem is in transfer rollerits located behind the pcdrum.
