Did you replace with an orginal HP cartridge or a reman. Either way, it sounds like the chip that tracks toner usage is bad on the cartridge. If original HP, contact HP and get them to repalce it. If remanufactured cartridge, contact the people that refilled the cartridge.

Unfortunately laser printers don't work this way. The laserjet 1022 was designed for black and white prints only. In order to do color printing with a laser printer you will need to purchase one that is designed to print in color. The laser printers work a bit differently than the inkjets - the laser printers have 4 toner cartridges, one each for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, that work together to print a full color page. With the old inkjets you could just replace a black cartridge with a color one.

So, short answer: Sorry but no you can't make a laserjet 1022 print in color. :)

I would recommend looking at an entry level color laser printer from hp, such as the CP2025 (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF25a/18972-18972-3328060-15077-236268-3673580.html) if you are looking into purchasing a color laserjet.

Open the front cover of the machine, press clear/back or options, the lcd should display change drum? press *00, close the front cover

u should clean the toner cartridge from mechanic..................

If you go to hp.com/support type in your product, open manual should show you pictures of step by step instructions.

HP unfortunately uses a proprietary chip on their cartridges thatrenders normal refilling useless. You have a couple different options:

1) You can purchase an aftermarket toner cartridge.
2) You can get your hands dirty and ATTEMPT to do it yourself.

Ifyou want to get your hands dirty, purchase a refilling kit, easilyobtainable on eBay. See below link to an eBay search. The kit is madefor the average person and includes the special reprogrammed chips forthe refilled cartridges.

By far the easiest option is to justpurchase a new aftermarket cartridge. However, with enough know-how,you can refill it yourself.
