My side by side refrigerator handles are loose (Whirlpool gold)

• need to move the door gasket out of the way and locate the screws .

Most door handles now are front repairable. I can't tell without the model number which style you have, but most units have an insert in the door handle. You have to pry this insert out, to get to the screws for the handle. Some handles actually clip on to the door by sliding the handle up or down to clip it on or off. these unit have a trim piece that has to removed first before you can get to the screws that hold the handle to the door.
try to "slide" the upper and lower trim away from the handle, that will give you the access to the mounting screws. its not an easy job but you will get them to move with just the right amount of force.

Look at the top and bottom of the handle. There should be a plastic end cap you can gently pry off exposing the screws to remove and tighten the handle.

Ther is nothong wrong with the ice Dispensing unit the screws in the door handle are loose and we can not figure how to tighten them.

See if you can unscrew the handle at the bottom, and slide it off the top bracket. Then you should be able to tighten the top screws and re-install the handle.

Take the handle and slide to the left as far as it could go to tighten handle. This worked for me.

If the screws aren't obvious, they will be locater under a pop out plug on under a nameplate on the handle.

i have a whirlpool conquest side by side and had loose handles,couldn't figure out.but then i grabbed handle and push in and up,handles slide off you can then tighten bolts then slide it back on.hope this helps.n

When you tighten the screws do they feel tight or kind of lose? The holes or screws may be striped. If so, try larger screws or some sort of anchor in the holes.
