Patton PUH 900-u untility heater starts for a few second goes off, it does a few times before runung

The thermostat is probably shot. These units are repairable but disposable, meaning the repair will likely cost as much as a new unit.

If it is the same as mine it takes a minute or two to start after you plug it in...this is a safety thing,in case it tips over...if it is tilted to much it will shut off...but will sart back up in a few minutes...

sounds like u have a safety switch going out try to fin the one thats cutting the unit off try bypassing hem one at a time until it stops and replace it do not leave it bypassed!!!

I have a RD125T heater. At first it would run for a while and shut down. Turn it off and back on it would do the same. Now when it is turned on it acts as if the switch was being turn off and on. Sometimes the heater will fire for a second then shuts down. Most of the time it just shuts down, Forest
