Change the "Input" setting on the TV to "AV" or "VIDEO". There is probably an "INPUT" button on the remote.
Find the TV/VIDEO mode on your tv or check the back of the cable box where your cables screw into the unit. There is normally a switch to select an output for channel 3 or channel 4. Your's would be on 3. It's just a matter of switching to 4 to make it work on your tv. More info on this here:
rca video out on DVD player

av in on tv
yellow is video part of rca
red and white is audio cable part of rca
change input source to AV 1 on tv when wacthing dvd player
for a more detailed explanation a photo of back of dvd player and model number of TV would be helpful
Try pressing the channel down button, alternatively your unit may be on auto-sense and since it doesn't detect any other available inputs it wont change. Try disconnecting the receiver, powering down the TV and connecting the cable directly. Alternatively make sure the receiver unit, which model is it BT?, is setup to output on the AV jacks. What all types of outputs does the receiver have at the rear?
Are you using the remote's AV button or the AV button on the TV? Do the other buttons on the TV work? (If the control board has failed, then the remote won't work nor will the input button.)
Are the cables for other devices connected and were the devices connected and off when the TV was turrned on? Are they on when you try to change the input? Bad cables may limit the sources the TV will allow you to select. Some will not go to an input that isn't providing any signal.
You can try resetting the TV to the factory specifications (you'll lose the channel programming though). Press Menu > Setup > Shipping Conditions
Just plug the AV cable in as normal. The PS3 auto-detects the AV cable. Turn your PS3 on first, then your TV. Change the channel on your TV to your AV channel (YPBPR) and it should come on fine.
You probably have a replacement remote. It will need to be reprogramed to your tv. You should have instructions that you got with the remot. Otherwise call your TV repair man and he can probably "walk" you through it over the phone.
