Cannot get DVD door to opem

Hello
First reset the device to its factory defaults and see whether it help you. If there are so many external commands we have given to the system, and it have been over the capacity of its memory, it will hang up, like our computer system do. Resettign it to its factory settings, will clear out all the memory item to factory levels, and the set will work as if is new. To reset it, come to the 'Preference page' after entering into it 'Menu', select "Default" and enter the reset option. After resetting it, switch OFF the set and switch it ON again. If this doesn't help you, the loader mechanism of the syetem is damged and should be replaced. It is a plastic made mechanism, and wont cost more.OK.

Vhs tape stuck in player

The unit is locked because it has detected a malfunction in the tape mechanism - most likely the tape has been pulled out of the cassette and caught so it has blocked the capstans and the drum.
To fix that you will have to take out the caught tape manually: open the case, access the tape mechanism and start taking the the tape itself out by cutting it in small pieces with a fine cutter and pulling it out gently- if the tape is wrapped around some parts do not pull on it, it might bend the parts. Once all the tape is gone assemble the unit back, power it and immediately press the Eject button on the VHS section. Once the tape cassette is out wait for 30 seconds and stop the unit, wait another 30 seconds and start it again - that should fix it.

The VCR works fine but

Hello,
  • Are you using an AV cord between your VCR and TV or a standard coax? If you are using a standard coax then first make sure the tape is functioning properly. Next try a new coax and if the problem persist there might be an issue with the coax output/input on the VCR or TV itself.

  • If you are using the AV inputs (red, white and yellow) you want to remember that the red and white are for audio and the yellow is for video. So in this case you want to
  1. Make sure the tape is functioning correct. Old tapes that have seen their better days will produce audio but no video and vice versa.
  2. Check the connection of your yellow AV input (audio). Make sure it goes from the same output on your VCR to the same input on your TV as the audio cords are running to.
  3. If this checks out then try a different audio cord and see if this fixes it.
  4. If not then try using a different output on the VCR and input on the TV all together.
  5. At this point it is possible one of the AV audio jacks are bad either on the VCR or on the TV.

Regards, Tony
