Not a solution yet, but is it set to VCR at least? And what is the actual problem you are having? Or should i say what are you trying to do?

How do i set up my tv with my sony vcr

Hi Katie.. If you are using a coaxial cable to connect your TV and VCR, the TV needs to be tuned to channel 3 or 4. If you are using the Yellow, red and white cables, your TV should be on video mode to work.

I would try two things here---first with the remote for the set direct enter with the numbers on the remote 02 and enter to see if set will go there and second connect a different set to that connection to see if same issue or not.

I have an old toshiba projection tv and i'm trying to program the channels but it won't go past channel 69 how do i get it to go higher. i've tried auto programing and that does'nt work.

In the menu check to make sure set is set to "cable" band and not "air"; 69 is as high as it will go if in air band.

Select CATV and not AIR.

Doesn't show anything on TV

I am sure that your cables are connected correctly. If they are your TV and DVD/VCR palyer has to be on the same function. i.e. aux on the newer TV's or channel 2 or 1 on the older models. THis is a easy fix and this will start you on the right track.

In just bought new Toshiba regza 40" Lcd tv and auto tuned it, but the picture is terible , snowy and colours are not good, what to do...

Hello
First of all reset the TV. for that

press and hold the POWER button
on the TV control panel for 5 or more seconds to reset the TV.
Then connect the TV tt any source like outdoor areiel or cable box etc, select the appropriate input, and retune the TV. First of all, connect it to an external antenna, and set it to autotune.

You must configure the ANT/CABLE input source before

programming channels (-left-hand column).

If the ANT/CABLE input signal type is set to Cable, the

automatic channel programming process erases channels

that were previously programmed into the TV's memory.

If the ANT/CABLE input signal type is set to Antenna, the

automatic channel programming process adds newly found

channels to the existing set of programmed channels (and

does NOT erase channels that were previously

programmed into the TV's memory.) To remove an Antenna

source channel from the memory, you must manually delete

it.

To tune the TV to a channel not programmed in the channel

memory, you must use the Channel Number buttons on the

remote control.

Programming channels when the ANT/CABLE input is

configured for Cable will take substantially longer than when

the antenna input is configured for Antenna. This is normal;

however, once channel programming is finished, you should

not have to repeat the programming process again unless
your Cable TV service lineup changes significantly.
Find out the received channels are clear or not. If they are clear, your TV is perfect, and the input device you connects ot the TV is faulty. OK.

Is my Toshiba 27AF42 TV bought in 2002 capable of receiving digital signals? And whether it is or not, how do I integrate my VCR into the TV and my converter box? Right now the TV is hooked up with the...

This is probably way too late an answer, but I just ran across your post. No TV made in 2002 has digital tuning, so you would need the converter box to watch off-the-air digital broadcasts.

To hook up the pieces, take the converter box output and run it to the VCR antenna input jack. Then run the output from the VCR to the TV's antenna input. Leave the VCR and TV both on channel 3 (or channel 4 if that's what you have the converter box output set for).

To watch TV, leave the VCR off and the signal from the converter will pass right through to the TV. You'll do your channel changing with the converter box, so the TV stays on channel 3. To record a program, just remember that the VCR will always need to be tuned to channel 3 (4), since it will have to be on the converter box output channel. Again, you pick the actual TV channel with the converter.

Note that this arrangement will allow you to program your VCR to record while you are out, but there are some limitations. You can't record things on different channels, since you won't be home to switch channels on the converter. The VCR is always recording on channel 3 (4), and the program you'll be recording is whatever channel the box is set for. If another program comes on on a different channel later, you won't be around to switch. But you could program different recording times on the same channel, anyway. You also can't record one program while watching a different channel, unless you had a second converter box.

Hope you can still use the information provided here. If this has been helpful, please take a moment to rate this a fixya. Thanks for asking here!
