Acer Aspire internal mic won't work.

Same problem as so many others. Acer Aspire internal and external mic won't work. I've done everything and maxed out the volume. I used Sound Record - got no sound. I used Goldwave - got a buzzing sound. I've used troubleshoot, but it says everything is working fine. I tested hardware and the mic never picked up my voice. Help please!!

The only thing that picks it up is Goldwave, but even then, it is a VERY low popping/buzzing sound that I can only hear if I blast the volume. Sound recorder picks up nothing at all. Whenever I webcam chat on MSN, no one else can hear me either, but for some reason..I hear my own voice echoing, but it sounds distorted and there's some quiet popping sounds along with it. I hear this is a common problem with acer.....

You need to check the record settings and make sure the mic is not muted or turned down to low. Click START, CONTROL PANEL, then SOUND icon. Click the AUDIO tab up top. Make sure that your sound card is selected in the drop down menu under Sound Recording. Now click VOLUME tab. A new window will open up. Click OPTIONS then PROPERTIES. Make sure you have a check by the MIC and click OK. In the Recording Control window, turn the level up for Microphone and make sure it is not muted. Let me know what happens.

Hi, Internal microphone on my acer aspire 8920g which originally has vista is not working now on windows 7. To be honest I didn't pay attention while I had vista and can't now remember if it worked at...

I suggest you go into control panel and device manager and see if your internal mic is listed there. If it is right click on it and see if it is selected as your default mic. I believe it may be un-selected. If that doesn't work I would just use the external mic with Skype as the internal mics with most laptops aren't that good anyway.

I connected several external mics but still can't get good audio on the test I configured my 5515 to the type of mic i'm using, but very weak. I adjusted the amp to max but mostly get background noise. ...

if this happens to both internal and external mic and to a headset, chances are, its an issue with your audio controller. reinstall/update the audio driver and try to use different recording programs

Internal Mic problems

it should work straight away on skpe. Have you checked to see that the microphone check box is not checked? To do this right click on the speaker symbol (bottom right of tool bar if you are using XP)

Is there an internal mic in my acer 5332? or just an external mic option?

I looked up the marketing specs for your laptop. These come directly from Acer. They claim hands free webcam communication. You can communicate freely with anyone using just your Acer 5332. Although I couldn't find a mic list in the technical specs, it has to be there. Goto START, Control Panel, Sound, Recording. If there's a microphone listed with a green checkmark, then you have an internal mic. If no mic icon then no mic. Goodluck

I have an Acer Aspire 5720Z. The microphone will

The fact that your internal mic works and then goes out, is more likelly a drivers problem.
I would run your device manager with all external devices disconnected and look for flags.
If you have a device problem, it will show up here.
Remove and flags and allow your operating system to reload drivers after a reboot.
If this has not fixed your problem, try to boot into safe mode and check your internal sound devices their. Sounds like a driver conflect.
Hope this has helped,

Sound problem - Acer Aspire 5920

I assume you are using Windows Vista as ships with Aspire 5920's. Try the following to make sure that Windows is using the correct output options:
  1. Click on the Start Menu and go to Control Panel
  2. From Control Panel click on Hardware and Sound
  3. Click on the heading Sound and the sound configuration box will appear.
  4. The first tab is called Playback and allows you to select a playback device.  You should find your external speakers and internal speakers listed.
  5. Click the external speakers and then click on the "set default" button to make sure that the sound is played back through those instead of your internals.

My microphone on my acer aspire one isnt working

This solution works for the Windows XP version. Go to msconfig.exe, then the Startup tab. UNCHECK rthdcpl and restart. Realtek driver doesn't load, but who cares...the microphone works now.
