The first thing is to try going in the tv's menu
It should be similar to this:
Menu>setup>channel setup
once you find something similar, run the channel setup and it should add in the channels
If
that doesn't work, screw on the cable wire, unplug the tv for a good
few minutes, then replug the tv and it should automatically scan

Tried your sugestions - no joy. No "Menu" button on remote and I can't get into the set up prog. RC is model RM-816 reversible control ie simple one side complex the other. I bought "One for All" remote with menu feature but the tv does not respond to this feature.
