Sounds like the alignment is off. By physically pushing the drawer.
There is a motor on the side of the drawer that should control the drawer by pushing a piece of plastic back and forth. This piece can shift if pressed to hard. In the back of the drawer are the rods that control the top to drop. These need to be aligned with the side motor.
Wow , mine did the exact same thing . I don't know how to fix it . How weird is this to even happen. CD drawer just comes out, go figure ?!?!? Did you ever resolve ?
That happens when you push it in instead of pressing the button. It may have skipped a gear or two. Many cd drawers have a pin hole in the front put a pin in until it presses a switch and starts to open the door. You may have to try this a few times until you can catch the drawer and pull it open. You have to dismantle the door to sync the gears properly.
you can at least get the drawer open and take out the disc by
1) detach power
2) straighten a paperclip and push it through the small hole just above the green indicator lamp below the drawer.
If you figure out the next step pls tell me!
Any decent repair shop should have a large supply of replacement belts. The Part number isn't necessary. Just take the old one in and get a new one just 2mm smaller than the original. Some repair shops won;t sell them because they don't want you repairing your own property but a decent shop should sell you one.
I had a mini system with the same problem, out of guarantee so was either fix it myself or bin it.
I opened the unit and removed the whole cd drawer assembly from it's housing. I then, not really recommended, plugged it back in and by pressing the open/close a few times the drawer finally opened. Put it all back together and it now works fine. I think what had happened is that I use the cd player once every couple of months and combined with the lack of use is the fact that there are several smokers in the living room and basically it got jammed by a build up of nictotine or whatever.
Try taking the unit apart it mostlikly jamed or jumped track try re ajusting it that would prob work, another thing is to try messing with the gears that could aslo work
Hi,
The CD drawer mechanism needs a new belt. They have a motor that drives the tray mechanism, and there's a small belt that drives the main gear so that pushing the drawer in gently to close it doesn't damage anything. However, once that belt breaks/wears out, the drawer will stay in whatever position it was last in.
