Tried to use a DVD with win 7 installation disk. Goes though to the Repair of Installed both starts to run and computer freezes not going anywhere. What can I do

Check for ventilation to start with. if its overheating this could be an issue, failing that, since you are already recovering the HD, I suggest that it maybe beyond recovery, as the recovery info.. is also held on the same disk

Testimonial: "I suspect that overheating did cause the problem. Solve that problem. Sense I am unable to recover from the HD couldn't I still be able to use a win 7 installation disk to wipe the HD clean and reinstall?"

If the hard drive is a WD ( western digital).. you need to remove it to see this, then the answer is most likely no. There seems to be a glut of WD500gb 2.5 inch drives failing. Having said that, you don't ahve much to loose. Make sure you use the windows disk to delete ALL partitions on the drive, and attempt a new installation. A giveaway as to the chances of success, is that if removing the partitions takes more than a few seconds... the drive will most likely fail completely, but always appear 'possibly recoverable'

Dear sir, kindly help me my lenovo 450 laptop not starts successfully and displays that one file is missing due to unexpected switch off or reset button pressed and displays that windows could not start...

Start it up in Safe Mode by pressing F8 as it boots up. Normally that will repair the corrupt file. When fully loaded press start and close the laptop.

I tried to upgrade the bios of my lenevo g460 but it failed and now it does not open only led flashes and hard disk led keeps on blinking

Hi

I'm not sure is BIOS Crisis recovery will work on your laptop but you may as well give it a try.

Turn the laptop off and hold Win-B or Fn-B as you start the laptop up.

There is also Lenovo Onekey Recovery which may help, you can download it here >>>>>

I have a Lenovo Y550…before upgrading from Vista (64bit) to Window 7; the Windows upgrade advisor recommended I uninstall OneKey Recovery 6.0 because it wasn’t compatible with windows 7, so I did. After...

I think i know what happened. Windows Upgrade Advisor by the name itself it means that there has to be an older version present on teh system to be UPGRADED. Have you tried installing WIN7 with OKR v6.0 then downloading OKR v7.0 try not uninstalling the OKR v6.0

>I chose not to charge you for rhis since this is more of a suggestion than a resolution... i would like to know what happened after trying this, i would greatly appreciate your comment on this, thanks!

How to restor factory o.s. on my lenovo 3000y500 laptop

You will have to have the factory OS restore disc or a recovery partition from the factory on your hard drive. If you have a recovery partition then you should be able to find it when the computer POSTs at boot - it may give you several options and one them being Recovery. Don't mess with your Setup unless you know what you're doing. Another possible way is by tapping F8 while your computer is booting up. It will go to a black screen with white text. You'll see several options: Safe Mode, LastKnownGoodConfiguration, and so on. Look for a line that suggests Recovery or possibly Utilities. If you can't find it by either of those ways, then you can usually contact the maker and ask for a Recovery Disc. They will want your model info. This usually costs under $50. If yo have a disc then just put it in, reboot the computer, press the indicated button for Boot Menu, Choose CD\DVD, and then press Enter. Follow the prompts from there to reinstall your OS.

To create a recovery partition in harddisk

Unfortunately the Recovery partition could not be reacreated manually. But you can recover it by using the Y410 Recovery Disc but that means reinstalling everything and youll end up with windows vista again. You can reinstall XP but do not delete the partition that usually has 10-15GB of space because that is the hidden partition for the recovery. You can call 18774536686. If your computer is out of warranty, it would only cost you 59$ for the recovery disc

I am using lenovo y410 when i repartition c drive from there onwards i can't use onekey recovery option.so,any one please tell me how i can use this option.....................

When you repartitioned you basically erased the onekey services as they were in a seperate partition on the c drive. You would need a system restore disc in order to reinstall the service on your computer. Sorry.

One key recovery not working

This problem exist because once the 31GB default partition is formatted NTFS, it reduces in size. So, I found this solution.

1. Boot your machine with Ubuntu LiveCD
2. Go to Disk Utility and remove the C partition (31GB) and do not format it. Just RAW partition.
3. Now, Power off your lenovo Y410.
4. Press the NOVO key to start OneKey recovery and follow the prompts

You should get an option to recover sucessfully.

Enjoy
