The CD player on my son's Sony ICF-CD831 PSYC Clock Radio/CD Player stopped working. It will start to spin, but before the disk starts to play, it stops spinning. Are there heads to clean, or any other user adjustable parts on this? It's a great machine, but it isn't made anymore so I can't just replace it.
I've been able to prolong the life on mine by doing this:
Insert the disc, then spin it by hand and quickly close the door and hit play.
It's always worth using a laser cleaner first, as it may just be dirty and stops spinning because it cannot read the disc.
