I had the same problem just last week and after many calls to my cable company finally got a person that determined my modem was only capable of 10 mgs and I had been been upgraded on two occasions since January 2009 to 20 mgs. Purchased a rebuilt modem from my cable company to accomodate the 20 mgs and for the moment not having any problems getting on the internet.

Why doesnt my dell latitude d180 not let me get on the internet with a belkin internet card

You didn't give enough information - I have to assume you are using Windows XP.
For a wired connection:
Click "Start"
Click "Control Panel"
Click "Network and Internet Connections"
Click "set up or Change your Internet Connection"
Then use the "Internet Properties" dialog box with the "Connections" tab selected.

Close to the top click the "Setup" box.
this should open up a wizard and from there you will need to enter the information from your ISP.

For a wireless connection you can click on the "Wireless Network Setup Wizard " instead of the "Set up or Change your Internet Connection"

I cant connect sprint PPC 6700 to wifi

First, stop using Internet Explorer - use Chrome or Firefox, but thats not really relevant..
Check your connection settings in Internet Explorer, Tools, Options, Internet Options, Connections and remove the dial-up settings and configure your LAN settings as needed

My Toshiba r15-s822 isn't connecting to a wireless network and the router I already installed the router to my pc even connected an internet cable to it but Internet Explorer wont open it keeps...

Try connecting to the Internet through the ethernet port (via a cable). If Internet Explorer loads the target page then you have a configuration problem with WI-Fi access : The wireless security settings are not allowing the computer to access the Internet.
If Internet Explorer does not connect with the cable then the problem resides with Internet Explorer. Try to reset the defaults. To confirm that download FireFox and use it. Besides you need two browsers just in case one acts up.

Hello,

Try this:

Control Panel>Internet Options>Connections Tab>LAN Setting tab -- Make sure the Automatically detect settings is selected and nothing else. Select OK to back out of all windows and retry your connection.

Have you upgraded to IE8 = internet explorer 8? When you comnnect to the internet watch your DSL modem and see if your modemis timing out when you try to connect. this means that the interent light will go out while you are trying to connect to yahoo. Other than that I don't know why it is doing it without being where you are to see it. There are a few othe things to try. Clear out your cookie folder and run your virus checker to see if it is a virus problem and last but it seems like you lost your yahoo drivers or cookies and that's why you are not getting a connection to Yahoo. Is yahoo your main connection page? if so it might be that your home page got hijacked and running a virus checker/spam checker should find it.

Internet Applications wont connect - Vista

I am running Windows 7 (the new vista) so I hope I can help. Go to the "Start" button and select "Control Panel". Click on "Network and Internet" and then "Network and Sharing Center". You shouls see something like: Computer =====Network ====== Internet. If there is an "X" on one of the connections, that may help you decide which option further down to try. You can keep me posted if this helps to this point.

I cant get on the internet,

Hi there,

Try to set your IP address to automatic then afterwards, go to Run and type "cmd". A command prompt window will appear, type the following commands:

ipconfig -release (press enter)
ipconfig -dnsflush (press enter)
ipconfig - renew (press enter)

after typing these commands, close the window and try to browse the internet. If the same thing happens, restart your computer and try browsing the internet again.

Connectivity problem

it is still trying to connect via your modem, go to control panel>network connection, and you will see your modem dialup connection, right click and select dissable if required.

next open up internet explorer, go to tools>internet options, then click on connections tab, then half way down select 'never dial a connection'.

Click apply>ok, then close internet explorer, open it up again and wait a few seconds and it will connect via your router(asuming that it is correctly set up).

If no page appears then click refresh a few times.
