PLES389DCE I keep getting an F1 error code and beeping when I try broil anything in the oven, it is only 3 years old...why is this happening? The only way to stop it is to turn the power off to it. What can I do to fix this? How long are the warrenties on this model? Judy T. I have a Frigidaire PLES389ACA and have also been getting he F1 error message. Our range is 6 years old. I don't mind replacing the clock/timer but I am not sure it will help because the panel gets very hot even when the oven is only set to 325. The oven itself seems to be heating to the correct temp because everything is cooking ok, but the clock/timer keeps wiggin out. Any advice?

no your control is out and needs to be replaced. the alarm is in the control itself. most ge ovens cannot be used, will not go into the bake or broil mode

I have had the same problem and the machine is 12 years old - serviceman who came told me the console can be replaced for $400 - I am opting to purchase a new oven

The f1 error means the something may be wrong with the touch pad on the oven

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.

2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

F1 is shorted keypad or corrupted checksum or runaway oven condition shorted control.

Did this happen atfer clean cycle or was the oven overheated??

if not need to replace Electronic Oven control

Also please check RTD or replace RTD is is a resistance temperature detector

If you have a meter put it in a glass of ice water at 32 degrees should read 1000 + - 4

Only have a one year warranty for this 5yr on the glass top. You can call Fridgaire and they may give you a consession...But you will have to be willing to stay on hold for a long time...

f1 code relates to a problem with the electronic oven control, no fixing the part only option is to replace it

F1 means the computer has corrupted....... Part is probably around $150-200 Please rate my help solved as I solved your question.

Error code F1 is for a defective touch pad or membrane (usually the touch pad). In this case you will need replace touch pad or membrane. It seems that water entered the touch pad during the self cleaning process, remove the touch pad and try to dry it. Good luck !!
